I wouldn't say that. In order to be a good team, you have to start proving you can beat teams you're much better on paper than. Something the Kings have failed to do for 16 years.

Now the value of wins this year specifically? Sure, can debate that. But being winning vs bad teams is the first step to becoming a playoff team.

The Kings got wrecked this season against teams without their best players. Blazers, Hornets come to mind.

These are games Kings would always lose in the past. We would say, Kings should win this one, all their players are out, then they would lose.

So yea, it's a good sign if we are winning these "on paper" games

Even go back earlier this season. How many "on paper" games have we lost? Getting the Mavs without Luka is a real gift. If the goal is to be a playoff team, you can't lose these games.
