Greetings, fellow Kings fans!
I suppose the obvious question is who will be the better magicians tonight? The Orlando Magic at home or the traveling Sacramento Kings? The Kings really need to pull a rabbit or something out of their hats after last night's game.
Looking at the box scores, however, it wasn't all bad. Any time we have TWO (count 'em) players with double digit rebounds there has to be at least cause for a little bit of a smile. Hawes had 11 and Williams had 10. You add Jason Thompson's 7 into the mix (4 of which were offensive boards) and you have to be impressed. Three Kings players with a total of 28 boards? I cannot remember back to a time when that has been the norm...
It's a very rainy day here in the forest which is a very welcome relief. I can only hope this is the beginning of a LOT of rain. We need it, our reservoirs need it and you folks down the hill certainly wouldn't mind it, I'm sure. Lots of snow forecast for the higher elevations which should bring a smile to the resort operators.
We've got our game discussion thread going already and it's nice to see piksi in good form.
Now for the commercial...
Kingsfans.com is a great place to come to catch up on the latest discussions, talk about your hopes and/or fears for the team, etc. We have some fantastic members who really know the game of basketball and we have newcomers who are able to join in and learn more about the game we love. All are welcome to our family-friendly board.
All this is possible because of the generosity and dedication of our board owner. If you would like to help defray the costs of keeping Kingsfans.com up and running as the #1 Sacramento Kings internet community, please consider becoming a Contributing Member You're under no obligation, of course, but our Contributing Members do receive things like larger avatars, custom user titles, and first chance at tickets to group events, such as attending the opening night game at Arco with some of your favorite KF posters.
End of commercial...
In years past, I've always worn my good-luck purple slippers during Kings games. For some reason, I quit doing it last year...but I am glad to announce THEY'RE BACK!
As I've said in some of my blogs, this year is all about heart and hustle, effort and enthusiasm. I hope to see that tonight. It's not about the wins and losses - it's about building for the future.
Now, I'm off to split some kindling and make sure I have enough firewood in to last through the game. See you back here for HPL.
Let's get ready for some Kings basketball!!!!
