Kings Magic deal:

Smills91

Starter
Kings deal:
Brad Miller

Magic deal:
Carlos Arroyo
Pat Garrity
Keyon Dooling
right to Fran Vazquez

Why for the Kings...they get expirings for Brad to open up a LOT of future salary and they get a young frontcourt PF to eventually go with our young core.

Why for the Magic...they get a great complementary piece to Howard/Rashard. The Magic need frontcourt depth and Brad really helps in that sense.

I don't think there's any way we'd be able to trade Brad for all expirings, Orlando is going to have to use those to fill out a thin roster. Brad could be pretty good next to Howard, but I'm just not sure that he'd be worth all those assets to them. If Hedo were included it might make more sense for them, although that only saves us $5 million long term. Not a bad outcome though.

You could, for instance, make it:

Brad
Salmons

for

Hedo
Arroyo
Garrity
Dooling
Vazquez

That would clear more long-term salary, give the Magic a couple of guys who would work well in their system (ball-handling, defensive minded shooting guard/offensive center), and this would clear more like $10 million for the 2009 offseason.

I think Salmons is a nice find...and with the Bibby situation up the air, he's quite capable to play the PG position for us past this season.

not bad smills ..but i really dnt think Orlando trades all of their expirings(especially after the lewis signing, because now they are real close to paying the tax)

Also they would be almost very weak at the PG spot because they released Diener

It would be ambitious. I see three deals that could benefit us, without a ridiculous amount of players coming our way. Here goes:

DEAL ONE:

TO ORL:
C Brad Miller
GF John Salmons

TO SAC:
GF Hedo Turkoglu
C Tony Battie
SF Trevor Ariza
Rights to PG Fran Vazquez

DEAL TWO:

TO CHI:
PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim

TO SAC:
PG Chris Duhon
SF Adrian Griffin

DEAL THREE:

TO CLE:
PG Mike Bibby

TO SAC:
PF Drew Gooden
PG Eric Snow
Rights to future CLE pick

Here's the new depth chart:

C: Moore/Battie/Hawes
PF: Gooden/Thomas/Williams
SF: Artest/Turkoglu/Ariza
PG: Duhon/Snow/Douby
SG: Martin/Garcia/Griffin

Could CHI be the missing team in a deal involving Bibby? If Snow is sent to CHI, and Griffin/Duhon/Khyrapa are included with Gooden for Bibby, it works. Chicago could be interested in getting a bonafide backup PG with Eastern Conference experience that is a tremendous defender, and shedding role players they don't need.

Just a few thoughts...not the greatest team, but deals coming off in a year, and enough young talent a picks to keep things interesting.

some people make these trade proposals, and sometimes i have to ask, would you really want a team like that? of those players? i for one would be very upset if we pulled another one of those trades like we did for webber.
