BEAT LA !!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the season winding down Kings are finally becoming really good at being really bad. It is too late for the top 5 pick but if we continue at the pace of the last 8 games we might get into a top 10 which is better than last season. So after dropping 7 of 8 Kings slipped to 27-35, 8 games below .500 which might be the worst we have been all season since we have been 7 games below 0.500 twice. With 20 games left (11-9) Kings have split priorities or so it seems. Coach is still playing to win, Ron is still after the ring and what we should be playing for is developing kids and reduce the embarrassment which we have been exposed to quite often lately. After playing in the city of botox tomorrow night Kings will have 4 days off before playing Portland at home having a chance to consolidate a bit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So Kings are paying the first annual visit to the city of botox tomorrow night. Pretty bad timing if You ask me considering the contrast between teams and their forms. Usually, those games were always exciting because we played well there many, many times but tomorrow night we aren't even playing to win because we won't be allowed to if we come close. We are hoping for a good effort and to avoid humiliation which is exactly what will happen if we repeat the performance from the last game. At least one humiliation will be avoided by playing on the road and not having to deal with MVP chants at ARCO. That was sad, pathetic and discouraging. Maybe tomorrow night - Kings will be a different from the recent trend. Maybe we will come to play and make an exciting game. We won't win it because if it is close in the last 5 minutes lakers will either score or get to the line every single time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before the last match some lakers "fans" stopped by to wish us well and tell us their usual garbage about how much we live in the past and how much they matter right now. Being a laker fan is an oxymoron and a paradox at the same time. As You know I am completely negating their existence. For all I know it might just be a computer program being bored behind all of this. And I am sure that tomorrow some of those programs will register here just to tell us how great they are and how much they matter and how great kobe is and how good Jack's movies are, and how cheap silicon is in the city of botox. Can't blame the program - it feels so great it just has to share it with someone even of that someone really, and I mean really couldn't care less
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Losing has been pretty depressing as of late. If it wasn't for the pathetic Heat we would be on an 8 game losing streak with no end in sight. In this stretch our opponents are averaging 113.75 points per game. That is brutal. Timberwolves have won only 2 season series. One against us and the other one against the Suns so at least somewhere we have a good company. We aren't putting enough effort on defense and we aren't playing like a team and it is frustrating because we have seen instances where we did well especially before Bibby and Artest came back from the injury earlier in the season. We were able to compete every night and that is all we are asking here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
All this is just a sign that at this point of time our players really don't give a damn what coach is asking them to do. I am not sure what angle a man with a huge ego like coach T is approaching this situation but I can imagine that no one is listening and frankly I wouldn't either. After 61 games this team still has no identity unless we can call them losers and that actually might be their identity. And if You add together the career records of the players that we currently have on the team - it won't be pretty. We need to let the kids play and we need to forget about A.J. type of players quickly because we are heading in another season that will be like this or worse and I am not sure how much more we can handle.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is Ron really hurt or not ? Who cares ? I don't because it doesn't make any difference whatsoever. And we will an answer tomorrow because playing in front of Jack is something that Ron won't miss if he is capable of playing also the chance of showing that he is better kobe than kobe himself - is very attracting for a player of Ron's mentality. If he plays tomorrow it will pretty much mean that he is picking and choosing games at this point and Pacers fans will tell You that it has happened before. Maybe he will be mistaken again and go in the wrong locker room and put the lakers uniform. I really wish him that and the lakers too.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin Martin had a memorable career game and it is obviously fallen in the background of the pathetic loss. Kevin played great on offense and got to the line two more times than the Wolves. In a way it hurt the team from the standpoint of other guys not having any offensive rhythm when they needed to score. But again 48 would have been enough if we played any defense. If You score 103 points at home against the worst team in the NBA - You should win the game. I hope that Kevin can continue to play this well but I also hope that his defense will evolve past flopping and watching an opponent passing him by because really good players usually play 2 way basketball and Kevin has potential.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
When one loses to Wolves at home - there are no excuses or explanations needed. Kings didn't defend and we just can't outscore anyone not because we have no offensive power but because our defense is so bad that no offense can cover it. We allowed the to dominate in every category and if it wasn't for 39-22 FT edge - it would have been disaster. We got nothing from our front line. And while we don't expect anything from Mikki a scoreless game by Brad was not expected.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

TDM went to C Smith who beat McCants because he was much more efficient
LW-VC went to Foye. Wasn't he supposed to be a big talent.
RA&1 award went to Telfair. He made Refer Alston Proud
JHA went to Mikki Moore. I can't believe he played 30 minutes
SAR-Methuselah award went to Brad.

WTF moment of the game - Muss Junior seriously needs to quit extending games and running up the score.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
lakers are next and they beat us a week ago playing 8 on 5 basketball and it won't be any different tomorrow night. We have to play our best to be close at the end as we have been a week ago in Sacramento. They have won 16 of 18 games, many in blowouts. In a close games they get to the line any time they need, they get all the calls and they know it which makes them being more relaxed. If we play really well maybe, just maybe but probably not.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - do it again
Brad - can't do worse
Ron - no one cares
Beno - again a chance to be best Slovenian on the court
Mikki - waste of playing time

bench - we need more on both ends of the floor.

Muss junior - it will take years and possibly another job until he gets to the positive record in his career.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
lakers @ 44-18 and 22-7 at home are rolling. Well coached as usual lead by the MP3 candidate and endorsed by the NBA - they are on their way back where they are needed to be for the NBA to make more money. kobe will get his and he will be on the line as much as the Kings combined. Gasol and Odom won't be guarded. Farmar wins the TDM. LW-VC goes to Walton. Our chances are slim to none but bigger miracles have happened before and thus:

BEAT LA !!!

Me in Off Topic, 2/26:
Dusted off The Shining, Cuckoo's Nest the last few days. I can't believe they lasted so long without CGI (sarcasm).

I don't understand why we don't just hard foul Kobe every time he enters the paint. I mean he always gets the call anyway, so why not try and take a shot at his pinky?

5 on 5 we match up well and if we come to play they aren't any better than us but in the second half we have to expect their 3 star players and especially Callahan to step up when needed

hard to believe that this team playing this way lost to Wolves at home.

And even harder to believe that lakers are as good as advertised

no way the lakers can win a title with defense like this. Its obvious that they need Bynum in the paint and i will be interested to see if we continue to push the ball the way we have, because in Sacramento we did this same thing in the first half.

And Kevin Martin looks great against a very good team and even had kobe looking lost for a second. But again...will kevin martin show up in the second half, or will he dissapear against this team again?
