Kings-Knicks on MSG tonight! (merged)

Holy crap.

I know now what people go through following my PBP...

Thanks, K113!!!

Seems like martin played every minute... or basically.

Balkman played some good d 3 or 4 times on a tired Martin in the 4th.

You can't judge play by the stats in the box scores. First of all, the boxscores are notorious for not being right. Second, the whole pace/tone of the games is different.

Kevin played 34 minutes and was the main guy for the game offensively, Ron being the playmaker and PG basically the whole time outside of a few things. Looked very good doing that. Hit a nice driving pass through David Lee's legs, for a lay in for Amundson.

Ron only played the 1st half, kings put most of the bench in for a lot of the 4th. Kevin in there most of the time.

Defense wasn't as good with Ron not playing of course.

Oh, okay. I guess I was confused by the "boxscore says Kevin had 11 turnovers!! Damn!" comment. :)

All I was saying is that if you were just going by the boxscore, you might get the wrong impression...

Nice to see you back, BTW. Sorry if I sounded brusque.

another 8 boards, and a couple blocks for Williams!

If this guy can come off the bench in Sac and give us some energy, and about 5 boards, and a block in about 10-15 minutes I would totally be happy.

He had more than 2 blocks... had 4 from what I remember. Also intimidated Lee on a drive, which he missed.

He's very quick, recovers well, and can go challenge shots on the perimeter from the paint. Like said on draftexpress. Quite active and a really good leaper. Scored on a nice drive, and a post-spin-move.

Williams is a guy that needs the developmental league. I like WIlliams and have touted him as an NBA prospect since he moved up from the juco ranks....that said, the guy is terrible at positional defense (although he can erase his mistakes by blocking), he doesn't know how to use his body whatsoever (always leaning in with the upperbody instead of using his lower body), and his rotations make you wonder if he ever played organized ball......he's very long and can get boards. He's a competitor and has SOME fire to him....gotta like some of the intangibles, but he doesn't bring every night, and he sometimes makes plays that leave you scratching your head.

I get the fascination with the guy, but I've watched him play probably 20-25 times, and maybe 5-7 of those times I was at the game live.....He's a good player no doubt, but he's not ready for the NBA in my opinion.

What I don't get about you Gary, is you're all over Justin and Lou is out there busting his ***, setting picks, cleaning up garbage, crashing every board in site, probably leading the summer league in offensive boards, and has averaged 2+ blocks every game....and in the end you come back to Justin Williams who's looked good, but has clearly played a level below Amundson.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Gary had scoped out Justin before the draft ... note his comment made back in May.

So, of course, he's rooting for the kid.

We don't know Justin OR Lou really. I personally hope both of them make it to training camp. If they can prove to be helpful to our Kings, they'll both be welcomed with open arms by Kings fans. We're a pretty friendly bunch, honest.

:)

I am a fan of Willaims, not of Lou. Forgive me for rooting for a guy I hope makes the team without comparing him to Lou every post.

What amazed me is that time and time again we had great defense and the kings in the same sentence. That might change this year but it is just funny to hear.

I can't wait to catch these games. Or at least the two that NBATV will let me see. I still could have sworn that I am tivo'ing three of them. Knicks, Dallas, and the Raptors. I guess we will see.

Might change? ;)

If when Ron came was any indication from this past season... and with a new defensive-minded coach, new players... indeed. :)

Why does the situation need to be about Lou vs. Justin at all? I hope they both stay with the Kings organization! They BOTH are the type of players we need. Just like Francisco and Kevin, it's not about one or the other.
