Kings JT to Atl discussed but declinded

You advance to the bonus round.

:D ...Quincy Douby. :(

I liked Avery Bradley coming out of college more than Jeff Teague, but that's still a tough trade for me to swallow. We'd be giving up our only full-size PF for a player who plays the same position as our best player. Unless you really believe JT is a bum and/or Bradley or Teague will be a star than it's not a good trade for us. It makes even less sense if you'd prefer Tyreke play alongside a full-size SG in the starting backcourt instead of another combo guard.

I don't think JT is a bum. Like I said earlier, I would do it mainly for JT's sake, if he can't find minutes here in the logjam of bigs, or has to play SF (wtf?).

If that's the case, wouldn't it make more sense to fire the coach and keep the better player?

Well, perhaps, but I didn't feel like "fire the coach" would be an appropriate answer to the question "who would you be willing to trade JT for?"...

Ahh, point taken. That's what I get for scanning instead of reading. :)

I don't know if:

A) JT let it slip
B) He was lied to to make him feel better
C) He is lying to make himself look better
D) Or any combination of the above

But he just said on his weekly radio show that it was not the Kings putting out feelers, but other teams being interested in him, FWIW.

Is that really surprising though?!

Here we have a young 6'11 PF/C with a career average of 12ppg/8rpg who is getting no real playing time and to make it worse is stuck behind Darnell freaking Jackson in depth charts. Every GM worth a pinch of salt would be placing a call to Petrie asking if JT is available. If the roles were reversed (some other talented young player was burried to the bench on some other team) I would be bitterly disappointed if Petrie didn't make the call.

For all of his shortcomings JT is still a good NBA player and for him to be stuck behind Jackson is an absolute joke. JT (Jackson) and Donte (Head, Wright) should be getting time ahead of these scrubs/depth players. But it appears our coach has once again lost the plot with his rotations. He only settled on one last year when he was called out by Hawes, May and Reke with Hawes copping the most fury in that one.
