Kings in the news: is this funny, or what?

I was just going through the latest mentions of the Kings on the Internet, and came across this opening paragraph. I felt it was a wonderful piece of inadvertent comedy, but others may appreciate it for other reasons.
MVP: John Salmons was the safe choice even with guard Kevin Martin and Ron Artest both averaging over 20 points per game this season. Salmons was steady on the offensive end of the court for the Kings and had the task of covering the opposition's best perimeter player each game, which he faired (sic) quite well all season. Salmons, who is the Kings' best overall player, played in 81 games (21 more than Kevin Martin and 25 more than Ron Artest this season) and averaged a solid 12.5 points while grabbing 4.3 rebounds down in the trenches for the Kings this season. If you are looking for a guy who fills the stat sheet and played hard every night, Salmons provided that for the Kings. Because of Salmons, head coach Reggie Theus now knows he has another solid player to compliment Artest and Martin in helping lead this organization for many years to come.

i guess you are not required to know anything about a team before you decide their MVP.

Here's my short list of the Pacific Division:

Phoenix: Sean Marks
LAL: DJ Mbenga
LAC: Smush Parker
Oakland: Patrick O'Bryant

You just gotta love Hoopsworld. It's my primary source for insightful, clearly reasoned hoops information.;)

What cracked me up about it was not just the assertion that Salmons was our MVP and "best overall player" who "played hard every night," giving Theus a "solid player to compliment Artest and Martin... for many years to come," it was where they went beyond indefensible opinions and into the realm of made up facts. He did it some, to be sure, but that he "had the task of covering the opposition's best perimeter player each game" is really stretching it, and if he did, and "fared quite well" at it all season, why are we 25th in the league in 3-point % allowed?

There's a howler or two in every sentence. I love it. :D

FDL. Don't know if I can stand it. John is a help for sure but a head case about playing time. Hoopsworld is a kick. Too bad they don't have any clues.

Lets hope that all the GM's around the league think the same way. Hell, we might be able to trade him for D. Wade. Not sure Wade's enough though.

If we had a time machine we could probably show the 96 bulls this article and trade him for prime Jordan.
