Kings granted permission to speak with Elie!

Ellie would be the guy for the simple reason that he won 3 championships as a player and knows how to get it done! Also, there's more reason than not to believe that that experience and ability will translate over to the sideline.

I've mentioned before that he's probably on the Top 10 list of most clutch playoff shooters. The only guys I put ahead of him are Jordan, West, Bird, Kobe, Horry, and Magic (alhtough Magic was more of a clutch playmaker than a shooter). (I'm sure there are other great clutch shooters, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind). To be on that list of legendary players requires a special mentality that not everyone in the league has.

Both with Houston and with SA, the guy played major roles in their championship runs. He was not only a clutch shooter but also a good defender that made big plays on both sides of the ball when it mattered! That mentality as a player, and the ability to execute when it matters isn't something you develop...it's something you're born with...or else everyone would have it. And more often than not, players with that mentality become great coaches!

Reggie Miller ;).

Yup, as has been said, that's why Elie's such a good choice. I like Musselman as well, probably 2nd though.

That's just one dumb decision compounding another one. While I'd be delighted that the brothers would be *considerate* enough to remember that the Monarchs would also need a coach too if they snatched Whiz away from the opening of their title defense season, I'd still be pissed as a Monarchs fan as much as I like Ellie. Hell, I'm pissed already, what am I talking about...I'd just be extremely MORE pissed.
thats a BIG, HUGE ditto for me, as well!!!
