"There is a pony in there somewhere" is a glass-half-full ending to an optimists joke that oddly fits the frustrating Kings situation. After 11-years of put downs by Phil Jackson and 8-years of frustration in trying to get s new arena to keep the Kings in Sacramento, there is one tiny glimmer of something positive from all of it. The Kings have finally found a way to irritate Phil Jackson. A comment from a Hoopsworld article today:

Before Los Angeles' two professional basketball teams -- the Lakers and Clippers -- tipped off Friday at Staples Center, Lakers coach Phil Jackson seemed a little ticked off about the possibility of a third NBA team (Kings) joining the mix.

Doesn't make up for possibility of Kings leaving but a tiny bit of satisfaction none-the-less.

Phil is just doing his job as Jeanie Buss' boy toy by trying to protect Jeanie's fortune. He knows even if he doesn't marry her as long as he plays his card right as a boy toy, he'll essentially be part owner of the lakers also once Jerry Buss passes.

I'll agree about the part where he says it's "ridiculous" to have three teams in one metropolitan area, it really is ridiculous but we can't do anything about it so it is what it is I suppose. Other than that, who cares if we found a way to irritate him.

Figures when they finally get under Jackson's skin, it's not by beating him...but by joining him. I hope The Royals are forever The Lakers' *****.

Ugh... Anyone who wishes for the gd lakers to win anything, against anybody, needs to have their head examined...

OK - knock it off. No calling each other names or arguing over who is a "real" Kings fan. I think we have enough real problems without all of you acting like 8 year olds. Channel that energy somewhere useful.

OR...this is a good job of selling the 'we don't want this' by a great salesman in Phil Jackson. Create a rivalry already amongst the two teams. He already knows that we Sacramentans despise anything LA...but for him to say this ALREADY about Anaheim would start a fire with that city as well and create a rivalry before the two teams even play their first games against one another...'wag the dog', perhaps?? Wouldn't be TOO far fetched, IMO.
