Kings Fans

I guess since this is a more general Kings question about the fans and not the team or particular game I'm just curious how everyone here became a Kings fan and when?

I actually became a Kings fan because of the Bulls and MJ, his last year with the Bulls I first got into Basketball because I watched him in the playoffs and was amazed so the following year sometime during the season I turn on channel 31 UPN I think they called it back then and the Kings were playing so I left it on and saw guys like Webber dunking, Vlade with the beautiful passes, Peja bombing three's and Williams making crazy passes and shots I'd never seen.

Funny thing is I was born in the L.A. area so all my family are all Laker fans and I'm the only kings fan lol.

So I've been a Kings fan for about 10 years =o time sure fly's by lol

Born and raised in Sacramento. Started paying attention to sports around the same time the Kings moved to Sacramento. I don't think I had much choice.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. Watched some basketball with no particular favorite team. Always been a 49ers fan since about 5th grade, but I got sick of football and only watch on occasion now.

started watching them in the '02 playoffs in their matchup against the jazz; up to that point, didn't know much about basketball other than you want to put the round thing in the basket. i was rooting for the jazz because i only knew two players on the court: karl malone and john stockton (and only knew them because they were on the jazz roster on many versions of nba jam).

after the kings dispatched the jazz, i continued to watch them, and was just enamored by the magic of their teamwork and chemistry. been a kings fan ever since.

Born in Sacramento, and my dad was a Kings fan, so of course I adopted them.

Earliest memories are the glory years of coach Gary St. Jean, Mitch Richmond, and the monsters known as Micheal Smith and Yogi Stewart.

Moved to Sac from the Bay Area in '93 and decided since I was going to live here I may as well adopt them as my team. Have had season tickets for the last 7 years(although this may be my last )

Moved to Sacramento as a very young child. Grew up loving basketball and the NBA. Was a Boston Celtics fan because even at a young age I could not stand the Lakers. Became a Sacramento Kings fan in 1985 and have been once ever since.
