We went. It was just OK for me, but any free Kings event is not a bad thing in my book. The Rookie Dance Contest was kinda funny when they broke out the choreographed dance. ;)

The lower seats were pretty full. They had the seats on one side pulled back for a kiddie area with a bounce house, etc set up.

And, as always, the free t-shirts never get thrown within 150-ft of anywhere I ever sit.

Saw Mikki sitting at a table signing stuff. KT was in the team store area doing the same. One of the rookies was also near the store for photos, but I didn't get a look at who it was.

I still wish they would scrimmage some just for fun. Make the event a lot more entertaining.

The only assistant coach to get any love from the crowd was SAR. B-Jax and Kevin got the loudest applause during intros.

I went also and it was alright. Good way to get some autographs and meet up with some players. Tonight i got the meet up with John Salmons, Beno, Brad, Shelden, and Mikki. Moore is a cool guy, said he's more than ready for the season. The dance off was definitely funny as bobby jackson made the rookies dance...

I went, and was extremely disappointed. This was my first "Fandemonium", and I was under the impression that the players would scrimmage.....That did not occur.

I did get a brand new home swingman Kevin Martin jersey though!

So here are my thoughts on what took place during my experience.

I arrived at the arena's west entrance at 5:45 p.m. only to find people lined up in the opposite direction. It was weird and I will try my best to paint a picture of what took place.

There was only one door made available so the line started there and circled around the grass area (where the gold "6" is) in a clock wise direction with the end of the line ending up near where the front of the line began. Once the single door opened another door opened too and those who were at the back of the line did an about face and were now in the front of a second line for the second door. It made no sense as to why the lines were made in that fashion.

I took my seat in the red section and the view was nice.

Bobby Jackson lost to Francisco Garcia in a 3-point shoot out while Jason Thompson won the skills challenge (fans were involved too).

Four fans were asked to participate in a dance off competition, which was won by a teenager who danced to a song by the Village People.

The dance team did their thing followed by the introductions of the coaching staff (SAR got a nice pop) and finally the players (Bobby Jackson and Kevin Martin with the biggest pops of the night).

It was my first time at an event like this and I would love to bring my children to it (if I had any), but I was disappointed that there was no King welcoming me inside the arena (well, not that much but a little) and there was no scrimmage.

Nice touch at the end with some soldiers from the US Army.

So, no scrimmage, no Geoff Petrie and no Maloofs. I expected them to be there, but they were not. I would have loved to hear them address the crowd that we have a young team that will play their hearts out and be as competative as we can be while we grow together.

Below are pictures and links to some videos I took.

IMHO, it was much more interactive than Fandemoniums of the past. Looked liked all the kids (and adults) had a great time.

I'll post some pics tomorrow.
You call it interactive, but I didn't go to watch some folks out of the crowd having a dance-off or shoot 3-pointers. I want to see the Kings, not Fred from Loomis shooting shots.

OK, so they had a quick 3-pt shot contest and an abbreviated skills challenge with only 4 players (and folks from the crowd) participating in each. That was pretty much it on the basketball front. A dance contest. Some free t-shirts thrown into the crowd. Player introductions and a 1-minute speech by Reggie. None of the players even touched a microphone. One of the Monarchs blathered on and on asking inane questions over and over. The only time we heard anyone from the Kings on the microphone was responding to her questions - blech.

Come on - where is the scrimmage, the players getting a chance to talk with the crowd on their own, Petrie or the Maloofs, etc? It was just OK, but I hope they improve next year.

I decided not to go when I saw the tickets were general admission and the schedule of events. seemed like a waste of time unless you were taking kids.

I was able to attend the first and second fandemonium of the post suckiness era (when JWILL came to the Kings, and the year following) and those two fandemoniums they played a game. Bench players against the starters. Was like two 20 minute halves or something.. Now THAT was fun to watch..

I am VERY glad I did not go to this, because I am sure I would have been dissapointed.

Oh.....one more thing:

DeMaya Walker was there as a PA announcer.....PLEASE GOD NEVER LET HER GET ON A MIC AGAIN!!!!!! Her voice is by far the most annoying that I have ever heard.
