[Rumor] Kings exploring trade to pursue ex-Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook

To drudge up an old acronym from the past (formerly applied to Tyreke Evans) -- it's probably that they see Carter as naPG (not a Point Guard) and they're thinking short-term positional need rather than long-term development. I'm naF (not a Fan) of this approach -- but you all know that by now. :)

Nobody should be. The Kings lack of patience is what has created this franchise downturn since Vivek took over. It's the sidesteps that has kept the team on the treadmill for so long.

Yes, let’s listen to these vets to go get yet another guard. I don’t know which vets but have they actually gotten very far in the playoffs with the Kings or their previous teams?

likewise, we should just tell our vets and team leaders to go kick rocks. That'll help team chemsitry, for sure

*Not an endorsement of Westbrook, but I think it's funny to essentially say we shouldn't take any input from the vets"

Unless you’re prime lebron, Jokic, or Giannis you should shut the hell up with input and go play ball. Could care less if they wanna play with there friends especially when they’re a non franchise mover like the vets we have. If Kawhi would’ve kept his mouth shut and just signed with the clippers they’d have boatloads of picks and SGA, probably would’ve ended up with PG later on as well but no.

This is such a bad take, lol.

Basketball teams don't operate this way anymore. It's a players league and basically has been for the last 2 decades. You tell any good player/star to go kick rocks... guess what you're not going to find a whole lot of talent signing up to play basketball for you. They all talk to each other and they all want input on how the team is run, etc.

This isn't to say you should listen to everything they suggest. But the absolute last thing you tell an NBA player is "Go shut up and play ball and let the adults build the team"

The Kawhi-PG example is interesting because 1. They never get Kawhi without them agreeing to go trade for PG and 2. Absolutely no one saw SGA rising to an MVP-level player. The price of getting Kawhi was paying the tag on bringing in PG too. Again, if you want talent on your basketball team, you have to at least somewhat play ball with what these guys demand.

Ya of course if I’m a GM I’m not saying it to there face I’ll nod and fake listen to there opinion but nobody on this kings team should even be saying anything. Win a play-in game first then we can talk about bringing players you like.

Luka advocated for the lakers to get Mark Williams because he said he fits his game that’s something you listen to because one Luka is generational two he’s basing it off play styles and fit. We got our sorry vets wanting westbrick who doesn’t fit in any way and blocks the young guys so what are they basing wanting him for besides being buddy buddy with him. So ya shut up and go to practice

Nothing like inserting the phrase “tell them to kick rocks”. I would t take input from these vets. Most of these guys won’t be here. As far as team chemistry, if they want Westbrook, I wonder what Devin Carter or Keon are thinking in regards to that…….team chemistry and all
