We don't have cap space to sign Kuminga outright and he's an RFA. The Warriors are completely in the driver's seat with respect to any sign and trade - they don't want to do it, it doesn't happen.

Guess I’m not used to that perspective. Whenever the Kings have an RFA, they always seem to get taken out behind the woodshed.

No. MLE would be the best offer we could make to Kuminga (what is it this year, $14.something). Still, even $14M would put them close. They only have $25M of space and would need to add in three more minimum deals at ~$2M a pop...But they would have a little elbow room there.
