Kings corner: It's time to take action to save the season
Diary with Corliss Williamson

Published 2:15 am PST Sunday, February 26, 2006

There was a lot of disappointment after that loss to the Lakers. We continue to play well at home, but in order for us to start making a move on the playoffs, we have to start playing well on the road.

Thursday was the trade deadline, and it wasn't any different from any other deadline day. You know there always is a possibility that something can go down. I tried to treat it like every other day, but you keep your cell phone on in case something happens. I was sorry to see my bench-mate (Brian Skinner) go. We usually kept each other sane over there.

If we go on this next (five-game) East Coast road trip and perform the way we have in the past (7-19 road record), we'll come home in a deeper hole than we started in.

To me, it's beyond conversation. We've talked all season about how we need to approach games, and three-fourths of season is gone, and we're still talking.

It's time to do what we need to do. It's got to be a team effort. You can have one person try to lead, but if nobody follows, it's not going to work, and it's too much to ask of one person. We all have to take responsibility.

Corliss Williamson's diary is the property of The Sacramento Bee.

Whoa.

Corliss pretty much tells it like it is...

I hope someone is listening...

Probably because they've contracted with him to write a column called "Diary with Corliss Williamson."

;)

At this point I could really care less what they have to say.

Pretty soon - it will be - "time to trow the towel, mail it in and hope for a good pick.

I don't know if you were a Kings fan back when Corliss was here the first time, but he's got a good head on his shoulders, and he's the type of guy you like to have on your team.

I think his comments have been spot on, for the most part. If no one says anything, we don't have much to talk about around here.

;)

I am not blaming Corliss or saying that he is saying the wrong things. i am just saying that we have past a point where words mean anything anymore. Heck, even Rockets look in better shape than we do.

And - it is true - we have nothing else to talk about anyways or to be specific - nothing that isn't depressing

This road-trip is what will define the rest of the season. Simple as that.

The Rockets have looked quite good, but have a very tough schedule, a funky T-Mac, and play the Suns next game.
