I just think Brown doesn't realize that while Metu and Lyles have been productive, this team will be much more effective on defense with KZ. Metu is not a good defender. Lyles is so so.
Naw I think Lyles has earned his minutes. That 3pt shot separates him. Metu is a good highlight guy. I'm ok with him. Would love to upgrade him but still. Idk why Holmes can't do what metu does but better?

Metu at C I think has potentially run it's course. He's just not a good defender. I think I'd like to see Lyles small-ball 5, KZ at the 4.

12 6 & 4 on 4/5 shooting from Domas, Davion 4/4 from the field and 2/2 from the line, Fox with 14 on 9 shots including a star call giving him that continuation, down just by 2 at the half. In a game that could’ve easily been a blowout if the team didn’t respond and punch back. I’ll take it

One is the DPOY of the best team in the league and the other is a fringe NBA player. All the explanation needed
I’d like to think if I was a red I would just call it as I see it a not give special treatment to superstars or home team. I mean that’s just annoying to me that as a person you are that easily controlled by fame and fans

Just not the case unfortunately. Every single ref in the history of the universe calls LeBron James by an entirely different rule book than they call KZ Okpala.

I really think this is it.

I'm mostly still confused about the decision of benching KZ for this long but if I have to guess, I'd say it is because Brown wants to reward his players who have earned their minutes.

He fell out of the rotation - my surmise - because he just had zero value on offense. Now that Keegan is struggling, if he can prove to be useful on the offensive end (today 3-5, 1-2 3pt, 1 assist, 7 points in 13 minutes is "useful" to be sure) then he'll move back into the rotation. No question.

Brown anointed him into the starting lineup and nothing about how he plays has changed. He doesn't even have to be in a regular rotation, but he should at least be used in spots
If Keegan continues to go cold from 3, I think you'll see Brown move KZ back into the starting lineup. At least he provides defense. FWIW, he's only 1 1/2yrs older than Keegan despite b being in the NBA for 4 years now lol

That speaks a lot on their character as a person to me. Who is so spineless that they are that manipulated by somebody good and honestly if they are that good then they don’t need help. Or maybe they are that good because they do get help.

Celtics have Justin Jackson. Wonder if they unleash him in the second half where he scores an unforgivable 8 points on 4/4

There's no excuse for it. If we subbed in some experienced NCAA officials, we'd get a better called game. I have no doubt about this

Well I didn’t see that coming. Great that they put up a sting fight to get back in it. Need to come out strong in the third so they aren’t playing catch-up the whole game.

I think KZ was initially seen as a filler player... we just needed another wing surrounding 4 quality starters, and that was KZ. However, Keegan's great play to start the season made it easy for Brown to name him starter. In the 2nd unit, KZ's role becomes obsolete because we have better all-around players than him.

I'm not sure he was ever meant to be much of anything on offense, but him starting coincided when Barnes basically forgot how to play basketball. So it was like 3-5 offensively for those first few games and got our teeth kicked in.

I think now, with Barnes rolling, the rest of the starters/Monk starting to click, he makes a lot more sense to introduce back into the rotation to up the defensive presence. Especially if Keegan isn't giving you the expected offensive push

Again, I hate to admit that there's truth in this statement, and I hate it even more to admit any conspiracy theories, but the NBA refereeing has been this way since I watched my first NBA basketball and it has been worsening in the last decade when the league seems hellbent to include more new refs who might not have a lot of experience over the years to some strange results. I'd thought that's what the G-League is for.

Solid point.

I also disagree with starting him, but then not using him later in spots when we need his defense the most. I'd rather see how the game is going, who is hot, then bring him in as a stopper and to give a different look

Keegan is pissin me off latley. He's the 4th pick in the freakin draft man. I strikes me as someone who may be getting home sick. Such an introvert may be missing his brothers company or somethin. Somethin is off. Could take him years to get use to the grind of the NBA. I think that may be.his biggest challenge. No way he should be getting blocked by old man horford on a drive. I mean come on
