John Salmons and Shelden Williams for Desmond Mason and Charlie Villanueva

Why for Kings?

I would think the plan would be to move Ron and keep John, but if we get good value for John then I have no problem moving him as well. Mason is an expiring, and would add athleticism to the swing rotation along side Kevin and Cisco. Villanueva is soft (and would make a supersoft frontcourt pairing with Hawes) but is a much better prospect than Sheldon has turned out to be. He actually finished the season strong after Yi went down, averaging 25 and 9 in games he played more than 30 during Feb and March. Getting a solid future PF in Villanueva also opens the option of drafting a small forward if that's who is BPA.

Why for Bucks?

Bucks fans on realgm at least have expressed a strong interest in John, looking for solid defense and ballhandling from their 3 position (especially since Mo Williams is more of a shoot first PG). Villanueva asked out last season (he's going to be the back up there long term behind Yi) and they seem to be intrigued by getting a bruiser in Sheldon.

I don't mind that trade, but it's not one that will do really anything for either team. Villanueva is better than anything we have at PF, but I wouldn't want him in our future plans. Mason is Coach T's hard on, so I guess he could get some satisfaction from that. Remember when Coach T said that he will be better than Hedo? LOL suuuuure he will coach T.. I even called into Kings talk when he was on way back when Hedo was still on the Kings, and said Hedo will have a better career when it's all said and done, and he called me an idiot .

Hey, he called me an idiot too. Welcome to the club. I question the Maloff's judgement on their affiliation with coach T. It could be worse, he could be the coach of the Kings.
I agree that Villanueva is an upgrade, and in fairness to him, he's never really had a chance to mature while playing the position. I still see him as a backup in the future.

For what it's worth, 100% of Bucks fans agree to this deal. Did I make it too much in favor of Milwaukee?

Honestly, yes. They totally undervalue what Salmons brings to the table. I think Mo Williams/Charlie Villanueva for Salmons/Shelden/#42 is much close to fair value.

You honestly believe Salmons is worth a 17 and 6 starting PG and a solid young PF who is definitely better than Williams?

I think it's fairly balanced. It helps fix logjams and upgrade positions on both teams. Mason and Charlie V's contracts also expire 2 years before Salmons'. If Charlie Bell could be worked into a deal, that would help solidify the PG position for the Kings, particularly if Beno isn't back for some reason.
