The thing that has become abundantly clear this season is that the NBA internet at large is somehow now more positive about the Kings than the fans rooting for them lol
Reasonable takes from Reddit. The Kings have nothing to be ashamed of.
I don't think anyone has critiques him for not playing all 82. Seems like a strawman to me.Any of the Fox critiques when he is clearly playing hurt, when in the past folks criticized him for not being able to go 82.
And any attempt to bring the 2018 draft back into this conversation.
And really just any dread after this game, if you really expected a win tonight I don't know what to tell ya.
Alternatively one could say the kings Play Good ball, not great ball we're able to hang with the team that was playing good Ball but not great ball until the more experienced team did what really good teams do crank down the defense shutting the Kings down completely in the last few minutes of the game. Almost like they were an experienced playoff team or somethingBucks toyed with the Kings, allowed them to run in the 1h (the overs are easy money in the 1q and 1h) then clamped down and ran away in the 2h. Levels are real.

They did to us what we've been doing to lower level teams this year.
I have realistic expectations. Lose by 12, we will be down as much as 18, but get it within 6 in the late 4th a couple of times.
Its a star driven league. Are star needs to bring it each game to win these top games. Fox can do it.
Look at the stars weve played. Even with bad games there presance is felt. Not saying they win all the games case in point the bulls game.
But fox too often looks likw a floater out there. Id say i noticed monk out there more than fox if it wasnt for foxes elite iso ball. He doesnt have to score every time but he must drive and kick and create pressure like nobody else on this team can.
Sobonis is our best player right now. Id lose fox for a few games over the big dawg
He’s never going to be good again. Expectations set!
I think he should be rested but he wants to play. Do I wish the Kings were a little more forthcoming with injury reports? Sure, but there are other teams that play games with them and list everyone as questionable too. If Fox is going to play and insists on it, he's not going to show up on the reports, and the team is not going to give additional information.
The good news for us is that no one in the West seems to be as daunting as Milwaukee and Boston are for us in terms of matchups.
I stand corrected. I just hadn't seen them. Thank youThere have been multiple critiques of this exact thing throughout the years on kingsfans.com. People have been mostly quiet this year as he started like he was shot out of a cannon.
Fox may want to play, but the playing time should probably be curtailed unless he can play with some vigor. Maybe that's why Brown has opted to start out the game playing him for about five to six and half minutes - to assess whether he's back to his old self.
He came out and disclosed his injury so that's probably why.Fox listed as questionable for the Cavs game which is a positive development.
I believe Brown is on record as saying that he wants to play as much as possible of the game with either Fox or Sabonis on the floor. This means that he has to stagger the rotation rather than do a hockey line change. Why he chooses to sit Fox first and Domas second, I don't know, but I doubt it has to do with assessing Fox.
Yeah, in retrospect, after reviewing his minutes/game, Brown is playing him fairly consistent minutes regardless of his performance. So yes, it does appear that the short burst of minutes at the beginning of the game has nothing to do with assessing Fox and how many minutes he should play. I'm starting to wonder, though, if it *should* be used to assess how many minutes he's given for the rest of the game. What other player gets his minutes if his performance drops off by an appreciable amount?
I looked at Fox's game stats over several games. What pops out is a very sharp demarcation in FG% between the Memphis game and the Atlanta game. Prior to Atlanta, his FG% in the seven prior games was .429, .684, .526, .417, .733, .611, .524. (There are very similar numbers extending to the beginning of the season). Then he drops off the cliff in Atlanta and the following six games: .350, .353, .333, .636, .417, .357, .313. The .636 game was against the Pacers and is obviously an aberration during this stretch of games. If Fox is suffering from some physical ailment it's a mystery how he managed to pull out the .636 game against the Pacers in a sea of putrid numbers before and after. It's a strange one, Mr. Grinch.
