Kings @ Blazers Game Thread

The moment when You think "I have seen it all" when it comes to Kings - they prove You wrong. Last night for over 47 minutes Kings looked dead. Their defense looked like a high quality Swiss cheese. Outshot, outrebounded and outplayed for most of the game we came up with the victory for no appearent reason. Kings did one thing right tonight. They read "how to beat Knicks" manual. The whole manual consists out of one sentence. - "Just show up". We showed up and Knicks gave it to us.

We showed lots of heart last night but heart, effort and will will get You just so far. Talent is what we need ASAP. Kings will NOT win tonight without at least Pedja or CW not only playing but having a solid game. Mobley would help too.

Team dynamics are always very interesting to observe and we might have one here that can ultimately end up being crucial for the kings season in general. In this case we have 2 guys playing out of their minds out there and three guys watching it. If all 5 of them realize that it is much easier to share the load then to carry it alone - everybody can benefit here. On the other hand if everyone wants to be a man at the wrong moment ...

I can imagine NVE waking up with a smile this morning. Additionally Blazers own us in rebounding on the "who is your daddy" level. It will be a really tough game to play. Back to back for both team which considering the minutes Mike and Brad played might not help at all. Since Pedja and CW are not playing our FT % went south. Mike looked like Shaq on the FT line last night:eek:. If I am not mistaking our FT shooting cost us a title before so let's hope that this is temporary.

Another game where we can only speculate who will play and who won't.
What else can we ask Mike and Brad to do ? Are any of the 3 starters going to be able not only to play but to contribute well. Can Darius forget the game from last night ? Can the rest of the team step up once again?

Portland - NVE will play well. Joe Przybila might have another out of body experience. They will be hard to beat but "we have seen it all"

NVE is a King killer, he'll get his. The key is to make sure nobody else gets much. We may see more of the zone again tonight. Bibby's free throw shooting was abd last night, but he didn't shot put it up there like Shaq does.

great way to pull together last night boys

do not let NVE be the the death of us tonight...with Cat and CWebb coming back we really don't have to worry about offense...but we gotta defend

Hahaha...I was thinking the same thing when Knicks were leading the whole game. Kept waiting for that moment they'll find a way to lose. And they did!! haha.


It's going to be hard to stop Van Exel. I'll be surprise if Kings can stop him.


Another thing about the Blazers...why are they having a back 2 back AT HOME?? Last night they beated the Bobcats at home. Tonight they have the Kings. When was the last time Kings had a back 2 back at Arco???

I hope Webb and Cat is healthy and plays a good game. They may be a bit rusty for having a few days off. If Pedja can play, that'll be great! :)

Hope to see Barnes get some mins if Pedja plays.

fatigue is the one i'm worried about the most..

mike and brad played 40+ mins last night.. and they have been playing over 40 mins in the games without peja, cwebb, and cat (except vs seattle when they were in foul trouble)

mike isn't even 100% healthy because of the ankle, but you could hardly notice it last night.. ;)

i don't like our chances very much if webb, peja, and cat don't play.. i'm hoping atleast 2 of them will.. preferably cat and webb (no offense, peja).. it's just that cat can give mike more rest, and webb can give brad more rest.. and those 2 players are definitely tired right now..

i hope we see another good performance from the bench :)

heres to hoping c-webb and cat take a lot of the load off mike and brad!!! and that the team continues to play well.

The real starters are in.

Cat, Pedja and Webb seem to be rusty from no practice and not playing for the last few days.

Just need to play some D and handle the ball better.
