[News] Kings and Schroder agree on three year 45 million dollar contract. No sign and trade

What I don't get is why the Warriors are not interested in Malik Monk. Perhaps they think he is a poor basketball player? My wife thinks he might not fit in the Warriors' offensive system. In any case, they do not actually have a backup point guard, and Steph Curry is not getting any younger. Podziemski is listed as a combo guard, but he only averaged 3.44 assists per game last season.
Well, maybe they are interested and the Kings aren’t as willing to just throw Monk into deals like everyone is assuming. You never know

Yeah I don’t have a problem with Perry so far. The roster can’t compete but maybe he is fine with that point and wants a high pick.

You're so strange. If Monte had dumped Jonas Valanciunius for cap space to sign Dennis Schroeder as a kick-start to free agency, you would have raked him over the coals and called him a middle manager in perpetuity. You think this roster, as currently constructed, is losing enough to get a high pick? A starting unit of Sabonis, Murray, DeRozan, LaVine, Schroder is still firmly in 10th seed territory, especially with the likes of Monk and Ellis coming off the bench. They're absolutely atrocious, defensively, but that lineup is still winning more than enough games to keep the Kings out of contention for a top pick.

Of course, Perry has the rest of the off-season to keep the Kings out of the 10th seed, either by legitimately upgrading the roster so they can avoid the play-in or legitimately downgrading it so they can earn a more favorable pick. But as things stand right now, the outlook is bleak. And the fact that you "don't have a problem with Perry so far" is beyond weird in light of your incessant harping on length, wings, "small for big", playing for the 10th seed, etc.

I doubt he'd stay idle throughout the free agency, but I'll be ok, having two solid draft picks to watch this season.
Per Grok, "Perry’s trade record prioritizes long-term cap flexibility and youth, rather than short-term wins, avoiding long-term, burdensome contracts".

I like his strategy if Grok is right, he might unload both LaVine and DDR before Feb.2026. Because I'm relying on his reputation, per Grok, "Perry has an extensive network, professional relationships, and strategic influence within the league, built over two decades in front-office roles with the Knicks, Pistons, SuperSonics, Magic, and Kings".

Yeah, this is the guy who's complained about how many guards we have and *to this point* all Perry has done is lost LaRavia, Jonas and Lyles while adding another guard to the mix along with the rookies.

Honestly, id be happier if we just didnt add Dennis and cleared playing time for Keon and carter. Even if you didnt trade any of lavine, Monk or ddr. At least there's be clear playing time for them to progress along with a clear runway for Clifford and raynaud to have a role from day 1.

Well Monte built this pile of Turd. At this point, I think Perry is hamstrung. Literally no one wants our players without attaching assets. That should tell you what a disaster the Monte era was. I don’t want to do a Vlade 2.0 and dump a bunch of assets to clear the roster.

But yeah if he spends a top 15 pick on an undersized guard I will say the same about Perry. I didn’t love the trade up for Clifford but a guard at 25 is the right spot. If we play him at 2 he has good length. As for if we make the play-in, too early to tell who might have hamstring soreness in February.

Why do you keep calling him a guard? When every draft analyst calls him a wing and 1-3 defensive versatility?
