It's a shame that a simple thread, devoted to honoring a Kings player for having a stellar night, has come to this.
I have to agree with BLNINJA, who has pointed out it was the way atxrocker condemned an innocent thread - which is a long-standing tradition around here, BTW - that precipitated some of the reactions and accusations of "trollism."
From there, things elevated and now, as KG4 has pointed out, instead of being a celebratory thread about how well Kevin Martin did, it's become something else entirely.
atxrocker has apparently not been back to read the comments, which may or may not be a good thing. It's never a good idea to make "this thread is ridiculous" comments because invariably they end up badly. Pretty much everything escalated because of this comment:

Well, actually I will continue to voice my truthful criticism where I feel it is appropriate. Thanks for the suggestion though. And actually, you know I thought the point of these threads was so people could offer their perspectives in their own right. I guess if one does not agree with the majority of posters then they should "stay they heck out" huh? Besides that you had no rebuttal argument to credit your statement. Sure, kid had a great game. As for the "much needed win" part, um... we did need the win. Ok, but we were playing the Carter-less nets. And after all the truly dissapointing outings he had prior to that im glad he finally did something out there. Show me every night. Actually we play Miami next Friday, MAYBE if he puts up similar type numbers against a team that is better than us and does it on a normal basis, I will be the one to start a thread like this.
Lots of misunderstanding to go around. Do I think atxrocker is a troll? No. Do I think the poem was appropriate? Not really, but I wasn't here at the time it was posted to say anything about it.
This is a friendly community of Kings fans and we have a number of features/traditions that newer members might not understand. When someone disses them out of hand, it's just a little abrasive to those who have been around long enough to recognize one of them.
At this point, I think it would be for the best if atxrocker and I discuss any misunderstanding there might be between us via PMs. Otherwise, the whole thing is going to continue to be subject to different impressions by new members who may not understand what's happened before.
Again, this should be about Kevin. Not about how one member decided a thread was ridiculous without knowing the reason for the thread...
