Kevin Johnson, the former NBA star and arguably the Capital City's most famous native son, is seriously considering a run for mayor.
On Thursday, Johnson confirmed his "strong" interest in challenging incumbent Heather Fargo in the June 3 election...
Johnson has not made a final decision on a possible run, but said he would make an announcement soon...

Not sure if anyone had posted this, I looked around and didnt see it, so I thought I'd start a thread, since it is quite newsworthy. Great news, if you ask me, too. I'm sick and tired of Fargo and her laziness the past 8 years. Not saying that Kevin would bring incredible broad changes right away if he was elected, but obviously he disagrees with the job she's doing, as well. It's time for significant changes in this city, and Fargo getting re-elected and walking into her next term would be the worst thing this city ever did. I cant wait to hear the outcome of whether he is running...and then if he is, what he has to say as to far as what will be done if he IS elected our new mayor. Just do it, Kevin!
