Kevin Huerter Injury Update

#7
To improve as a team, I think the Kings still need to be smart on some of these areas:
1. Fox would need to attack more if shots are not falling. This is how you shift momentum as well...like what Barnes did to draw foul when nothing going for the team. He only does it when the game is close or 4th quarter...which is great but why? Wouldn't you want to expand it to make the team more dominant?
2. Learn to take advantage of foul when you realize the other team is in foul trouble.
3. With 42 seconds left before the end of 1st quarter, why did Fox let the clock run down to 10seconds before he start to move? I don't get it. Wouldn't it make sense to have plenty of time to execute your offense?
4. Metu's defense need to improve as far prevent penetration. Need to raise your hands up in the air if you're going to take charge to let the refs know you're set. Keegan must do the same. When you raise your hands up rather than bring it down, you can get favorable call because you're letting the refs know you're set.
5. Barnes is the X factor in defense. His individual defense is bit soft allowing penetration without much resisting. He is a fundamentally sound player and play solid D but individually, need to be better. He let Giannis get off too easily (at least make him work). I think Barnes has maxed out his limit...we know what we get from him.
6. Huerter and Keegan all need to improve individual defense...especially Keegan...learn to better anticipation and prediction rather than letting the offensive player dictate first.

Good news. But, please don't rush him back, hamstrings can be a tricky injury. We will need him for the playoff run.

This time off will also give TD some PT to get him primed and ready for the playoffs too.
I'm hoping Kess gets some run here to see what he can do - we know on defense, but let's see him settle in on offense. I suspect he's a better thee pt shooter than some realize. Bit of clutch in him too I think.

He shot 40%, taking four a game, over three years in college. In addition, his free throw attempts and percentage went up every year and ended at four a game at 87%. So he can shoot, he probably just needs confidence.

Well we’ve been on the lucky side this year and Huerters injury report is pretty darn good news.
we may just have the chance of resting players at their end and that depends if we have a chance at the first spot or we are holding a team behind us off.

Kevin is needed but your right he needs to be healthy when they insert him back into the lineup. But giving a few others a run with the first unit may be a smart thing

In some ways, he's in almost a perfect spot with us right now. With Kevin out for possibly a few games, and Keegan struggling a bit of late, there are plenty of minutes at the 2-3 to go around. Monk will take a bunch of them, but should still leave plenty for TD/Kess/Davion.

Given that Davion will likely back up Fox more, and we lose some size at 2 if we go with TD/Davion there, I would expect Kess to get more time while Kevin is out. Brown, and the team, also seems to be emphasizing defense a little more lately, which is a welcome development.

Plus, with the recent overall performance, pressure to win each game has reduced. Sure we even have a shot at the first seed, but realistically, we are in a dogfight for the second seed. Hope it doesn't come back to bite me, but at this stage, I don't see the Suns overtaking us. So, it will be either us or the Grizz taking the second seed.

While it would be good to potentially have home court advantage in the second round, that's too far ahead. We have no clue how the order will ultimately play out, and if we/Grizz will ultimately make it there to matter. Long story short, as long as Kess brings a strong defensive game, he can afford to have a bad shooting game without getting chewed up by Brown. Of course, a strong game on both ends is a win-win for him and us.
