Kenny Thomas for Jamal Magloire?

Magloire was the Bucks' starter at center last season, and rookie 7-footer Andrew Bogut started at power forward. But Bogut will move to his natural position of center this fall, and Charlie Villanueva is expected to start at power forward after being acquired in the deal that sent guard T.J. Ford to Toronto. "There are still a number of teams we're talking to," Harris said. "We have contacted two or three teams more than once at this point. "I don't know that there's a resolution, but there are certainly more conversations going on over the last week. Now players are getting signed, free agency is dwindling down and everybody is looking at their rosters. "As I look at it, the 1 (point guard), 3 (small forward) and 5 (center) are the positions where we can add some depth. Hopefully we can accomplish that with Magloire, if we do trade him." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

looks like the bucks need a point guard, small forward and center... maybe a combo of KT and Hart or KT and Potopenko can get maglorie to the kings...

IF we can get the bucks to bite on KT playing some small forward for them, this just might work... and according to hoopshype, KT has played both power forward and small forward....

Personally I've thought KT would be more effective at the small forward position. I don't care if he thinks he's a power forward. He's a better match up at the small forward.

Yes there are, but why would Cisco be the designated dumpee? Other than Kevin, I would put him higher up onthe totem pole than any of the other youngsters.

I would hate to lose Garcia due to his versatility of playing 3 positions, but now that we spent some big bucks on Salmons 5 yr/25.5M, Garcia is going to backup Artest and that's about it. While Garcia is cheap and young I hate to lose him, but we need a 4/5 big rebounder and you have to do what you have to do. If it means packaging up Garcia with KT to unload that terrible contract than it's worth it. You have to sweeten up the bitter apple that is KT personally and his contract. A combo of Garcia and maybe some expiring contracts will sweeten it up enough so that we get someone decent/good and not have a terrible contract in return because we are giving up so much. Hopefully this will happen.

kenny can't keep up with small forwards, not only that but he has no long-range shot, and his mid-range shot is pretty lousy. He's good at rebounding and to do that he need to play the 4. he'd be antoine walker without the three's and the passing and good attitude

Watch, sure as heck, Milwaukee will trade Magloire for a piece of junk expiring contract and a 2nd rd pick...

Would they bite on that Garcia/Thomas/Hart OR Pot deal in exchange for Magloire and maybe Gadzuric deal?

That would set us up supremely, if completed. Then, we could try and move Bonzi for a backup big and an expiring contract (maybe) and call it a TDOS.

Not to mention the SF's he'd have to face in that division alone. Noicioni, LeBron, Tayshawn, and even Granger would eat him alive.

In Petrie's radio interview talking about the Salmons signing he specifically mentioned that Musselman was planning on using the "Run and Jump" defense. This and the previous mentions about Musselman wanting to use full court pressure a lot makes it really seem like they won't be looking for a guy like Magliore. In the run and jump, most of the trapping is done by the 2 and the 4, so you need guys playing in those positions to have good speed so they can recover and get back to their men after the trap. I think this pretty much eliminates the possibility of moving Brad to the 4, and I think that Petrie will be looking more along the lines of signing a cheap back up center who can run the floor, someone more like Ely or maybe Loren Woods. It really seems to me that they are looking to go away from a big, lane clogging center and more towards fast guys who can front and deny position.

On the bright side, our two fastest guys in respect to their position are Thomas and Martin, so it looks like Musselman picked a system that will play to the strengths of the guys we have. Hope it works.

Kenny is athletic and fast. Sure he doesn't have a great outside jumper. But he could kee up with other 3's.

Maybe, KPM. That doesn't rule us out going after Magloire, as he'd be playing center if he he's here. Backing up Brad and getting good minutes, or vice versa. We would not be having a Brad/Magloire 4/5 spot.

But that is partly why LoWright would fit for us. He's a moblie PF/C at 6'11" 240, with a decent two-way game. Good rebounder, post-defender, not a good shotblocker, but not an occasional one either. Takes a lot of charges to make up for that. Can guard out of the paint some because of his quickness, plays with energy, and hustles in general. Would compliment Brad/SAR/Magloire if he's here.

Indeed not a slow guy, but Cato's a center, so wouldn't really be relevant to what I was saying with Wright there and in part to KPM.

Aside from all that, I like Cato for us as a defensive big. More of a shotblocker than Wright, and is bigger.

Wait, what? This first part makes no sense. You were talking about Wright being a capable center in this offense because he's mobile I was adding that Cato is also mobile.

No, it does, you just didn't follow where my response originated from. I said mobile 4/5 for Wright, and was in relation to responding to KPM's post and the pressure defense. So with Cato being a center, he wasn't relevant to what I was talking about in the first part of my post before you replied. As you said "Cato's pretty mobile too", but that goes back to the aforementioned stuff about Wright and responding to KPM and the pressure defense.

Then in my second part in response to your post about Cato, I just commented about Cato in general for us as a defensive big, aside from the other stuff. As it was not with the other part of the post in response to KPM and the pressure defense.

Yes, but Wright's athletic and mobile for a 4, and bigger. So would still fit there. KT obviously better because of what he is.

I'm kinda looking forward now to seeing what Kenny can do in a system that seems to fit him very well placing more emphasis in the areas he is strong, and less emphasis in the areas where he has issues. He's a pretty good player, so maybe he can play better in a faster game that gets into a good rythm which will help his jumpshots fall. Woudln't suprise me at all to see a much more productive KT this year.

I can agree with that ^. I like KT's game, just don't like his attitude or contract. Hopefully he'll get his jumpshot back, that was automatic before 05-06.

I just want us to get 1 or 2 defensive big men, which we should. Plus Amundson and/or Williams.

That's the ticket- It would be really great if KT would play like we know he can in his role off the bench. But, his attitude is mostly based around not starting and according to the list that I saw, he will be behind SAR (thank whomever). I really wonder if that fight or whatever makes it so that KT will not be a team player and contribute what he can. I do not understand why he cannot accept his role????

Kenny may fit better but we definately need some protection at the basket. That remains to be true. Maybe they can get Tag out of retirement. He could help immensely.
