Kayte's post -summing the first half of the season

From Kayte - something related to team chemistry.

"So what does it do to a young group of players who were having fun, winning games and riding an absolute high maybe they didn’t realize they were bound to come down from? Well, most of the time you would think the team would crash hard, but it really didn’t. The wins were scarce but the effort was never questioned and the scores weren’t blowouts, by any means. In most games, the Kings were in position to win right up until the end, and then…they came up short."

Sounds like positive chemistry was never a problem with this team.

Contrary to the conventional wisdom of some on this board.

Great article. Kayte is becoming an excellent writer. She could be an equally excellent on-air analyst too.

I think the chemistry still need improvement. They still need to know each other mind and know when to jump in or jump out..etc.

But from the quote, I see that their heart and effort was never in question.

Yeah, chemistry has several facets. One is how the team gets along together in the locker room which can impact how much they share the ball and have each other's back. And how much they just enjoy playing together.

Another facet might be experience. How well do they know each other's game, how well do they predict where their teammate will be or where they want the ball.

Teams can have a lot of experience together and crappy chemistry. Like the Shaq/Kobe Lakers.

Or teams can have not much experience together but great chemistry, more like our young team.

Experience is something that definitely comes with time and a stable roster.

Chemistry is more illusive.

And yeah, I think the heart of this team has been really strong this year.
