So lets get Kevin Love!!! Love would be the PERFECT compliment (albeit only offensively) to Cousins and Tyreke. Defense would be ehh. Sorry, just got a little excited thinking about it. Flame away!!

I don't think they're THAT stupid. They probably aren't giving up Love unless they're getting Evans back in return. But yeah, if there was a way that would be awesome. A Cousins/Love front-court could dominate.

While Cousins and Love could be something else offensively and on the boards, defensively, they would suck big time. You can't win a championship with frontcourt defense like that. It doesn't really matter anyway because they're not going to trade Love.

I would love to Love at the 4 next to Cousins. My guess is he's gone after the year, or will at least attempt to leave. Is he a RFA or FA? For some reason I think he's a RFA, but of course we'll have the ability to offer more than just about any other team, no matter how the new CBA works out.

Love grew up in Oregon, is a small town guy at heart, and we're the 2nd closest franchise to his hometown. This guy has the ability to average 15/15 for the next 8-10 years, and he could do it next to a guys like Tyreke and Cousins. His defense will only get better, but it's really not that bad at the moment, and he's already one of the most physical guys in the league. His offense would fit really well, as he can hit open jumpers out to the 3pt line, can finish with either hand inside, and is an above average passer.

Yeah, a Love/Cousins frontline is exciting to think about. If he considers FA, like I think he will, he would be my #1 option to go after this summer.

We're not talking a trade. He might walk without signing an extension. Only question is can MInn match.

I don't think he's a FA this summer. He's listed as under contract through 2012 and a qualifying offer for 2013. http://hoopshype.com/salaries/minnesota.htm

I would love to get K-Love on the Kings. He is the type of smart, high BB IQ type player that we need on this team. Although I am a bit biased being a Bruin and all.

But he isn't even a restricted FA until summer of 2012, right? Or am I missing something?

No, your correct. He's under contract for next season and then becomes a restricted freeagent the following year. If we want him, we'd have to trade for him..

Kevin Love is widely hated around Oregon because he trashed UO as a small time school for the bright lights of UCLA. Now I've got no allegiance to either of the big schools here in Oregon and think they're probably the two worst basketball programs in the PAC right now so I don't bear him any ill will for choosing UCLA over a hometown program, but I really don't think he is a small town guy and I imagine he would have the same disdain for Sacramento as he did for Eugene.

Dude Sacramento is NOT Eugene Oregon. You can't even BEGIN to compare the two. Come off that, he is living in cold *** Minny, why wouldn't he wanna come play in Sac, 80 minutes from either Frisco or Tahoe, in a city of over 1 million people? Stop the Sac-Eugene comparison. Worlds away. Climate's completely different.

I was responding to the notion that he was a small town guy and noting that his actions when selecting a university appeared to prove otherwise, not that Eugene and Sacramento are the same, though in terms of NBA destinations they are a lot closer than you think. I'm not going to badmouth my hometown but trying to sell Sacramento as a top NBA destination because it is 80 minutes from SF or Tahoe is beyond ludicrous. Not to mention that if that were a factor he could just return home to Portland and be a 60 minute drive from the mountains or the coast and live next door to his parents. But again, my belief is that he wants to be in a glitzier town and media market than either city.

Choosing a college to play and get exposure to better your chances of making it to the NBA and choosing a destination IN the NBA where you will be getting PAID is completely different. Plus, the weather in Sac is much better than Eugene or Minny so I don't think your point even APPROACHES relevancy.

My point is that Sacramento is a small town not that it does or doesn't have decent weather, something I never even mentioned. But neither Oregon or Sacramento have anything like the climate in Minny, and they have more in common with each other than a sunny 365 days of the year spot like LA.

Oregon and UCLA share the same crappy Pac-10 tv deal with Fox Sports so national exposure would be identical. But Nike has been trying for years to get a stud to Eugene and you better believe that as soon as they do that person will be plastered all over the country the way their football players are.

Nope. Cousins and Love don't complement each other at all on the defensive end. We need somebody longer and more atheltic that can come from the weak side and take care of business.

Same thing happened to Terrence Jones. He had verbally agreed to go to Washington, and then at the last minute changed his mind and decided on Kentucky. He was loudy booed when they played earlier in the year. I can't really blame either Love or Jones. If your looking to futher your career, then the higher profile college you can get into the better off you are. Not that Washington is chump change. They have a very good program there.

The thing with Love is that his dad was also a UO guy and so it was assumed for years as he emerged as a prep star that Kevin would go there, but when he was 16 he got into a huge tiff with Nike by attending a Reebok camp instead of the Nike camp and was asked not to join the Nike team soon after. That caused a rift that wasn't going to get repaired and since Nike essentially owns UO that was it. But it got worse when Love decided to badmouth the school in the papers.

Now like I said I don't blame him as I think UO's program is a complete joke no matter how much money Nike throws at it. I mean they couldn't even get Few to come back and they were talking about stealing Izzo or Jamie Dixon away. They should have learned their lesson from Arizona's very painful coaching search which was a miracle and two last minute change of hearts away from unmitigated disaster. That said, Nike got Joey Harrington a building wrap in Times Square so I imagine that when the basketball team finally lands a top recruit it will be even bigger.

Love wants to go to a winning team. So it's pretty pointless to discuss this unless you want to discuss to what team he's going to sign with not including Sac.

No way they ever give up love, the only way he is going is if he wants out at all costs, and even then he will be staying for another 3-5 years because he is restricted. I really don't think Kahn is as stupid as he appears, I mean he did get Michael Beasley(22PPG player) for nothing... Of course you could say he did the exact same thing with Al Jefferson(gave him away for nothing), but still he was willing to take chances and so far it looks like they are paying off.
