Just some thoughts...

Ok, first off I would like to start by saying that this isn't an essay.

I have been thinking a lot about the Kings and what is going to happen this off season. Here are a couple ideas that I have.

First off, Bibby opts out of his contract. We resign him to a 5 year deal for around $50M. The reason why we do this is because we are going to trade him. I know all you Bibby fans are bothered by this but just please listen. We then do a 3 way trade sending Bibby to Portland and getting Rafer Alston from the Rockets. With our roster we don't need Bibby because he usually acts as an undersized SG and Portland, with the slew of big men and the #1 draft pick are going to need a veteran PG to go along with the young talent....kinda like what happened in Phoenix. Portland will end up looking something like this:

PG - Mike Bibby
SG - Brandon Roy
SF - Zach Randolph
PF - LaMarcus Aldridge
C - Greg Oden

That looks like a pretty darn good line up to me. Even though that would put Zach Randolph as SF I still think it would work. We then look at getting one of their big men (like Joel Przybilla) for a back up C to add some defense to our roster. The rockets could also use a big man for their PF spot....but I have no idea what they would do there.

With the #10 draft pick we PRAY for Joakim Noah. I know this is probably a long shot but I would love to see him on our team.
Our roster ends up looking like this:

PG - Rafer Alston, Quincy Douby
SG - Kevin Martin, John Salmons
SF - Ron Artest, Francisco Garcia
PF - Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Joakim Noah
C - Brad Miller, Joel Przybilla

Brad Miller would mostly be running the point along with Ron Artest and Francisco Garcia. They all do a good enough job IMO.

Again, this blog took me about 10 minutes to write so don't critique the grammar and the holes in the plan.....just give me your thoughts :D

I'm not a basketball guru and have never claimed to be....so don't cut my head off for this!!! :D And please throw in your ideas.

Zach at SF would be a horror. He can't guard 6'10 lugs, what happens when has to guard quick 6'7 players with handles. And he'd be positioned outside of the paint where his offensive skills would go to waste.

If Bibby acts as an undersized two guard, and Ron, Garcia, Miller are your Points, why not just keep Bibby. He can at least shoot, unlike Rafer.

Sorry dude, you lost alot of credibility when you put randolph at small forward. He is a undersized power forward and that is the best place to have him to maximize his abilities. Why would we take back skip to my lou?? I'd rather play price or douby at the point this year, suck and get a high lottery to get a young pg in the next draft. There are many to choose from in next years crop.

i think we'd try to get rid of artest b4 bibby. sar, miller, bibby, artest should be gone this summer as we rebuild for the future. Miller, SAR, Bibby are getting older and slower.. they're value isn't going up in the upcoming years. we should be looking to clear capspace, pick up some young'ns, and draft picks... all we need is franchise player through the draft .. let him grow a bit .. if we play our cards right, our capspace will be free and we'll be able to make a splash with a great veteran through free agency. IE phoenix suns.. they sucked a little, got lucky in the lottery and picked up amare. traded some of their players to get expirings/shorter contracts and picked up nash.. instant playoff contenders. I know not every scenario plays out that way but imo its a better outlook than adding lots of marginal players that will get us nowhere.

Like I said, I threw this together in about 10 minutes and nothing is set in stone. Of course it would be nice to see Zach Randolph traded for a SF with promise....but didn't spend the time figuring that out.

Please give input on what you would do guys :D

Kingsfans.com is good for that!

Rafer Alston = where's that projectile vomit smilie?

Actually, our entire lineup = vomit smilie.

Miller and Shareef plodding around on the frontline again? Rafer running the point? Is this some sneaky attempt to assure us of Mayo or Love next season? Or just an attempt to clear the last of the diehards out of Arco to make it easier to clean up after games? ;)

Don't mind the moving Bibby premise at all as a atsrtaing point. But Portland would plant a big wet sloppy one on you for this (not sure what they are sending to Houston), and we get royally screwed while still retaining 90% of our roster problems, and adding a new one.
