Hodge was apparently traveling with another person on I-76 near Pecos. When investigators arrived, they found an empty black car, with multiple gun shot holes, sitting empty in the middle of the interstate. Witnesses told investigators that Hodge and his passenger were driven to a hospital by a Good Samaritan before officers arrived. After being hit by gunfire, Hodge apparently stopped the car and flagged down another motorist for help.
Eastbound I-76 was closed for more than four hours so law enforcement could investigate. It's still unclear who shot Hodge and if he was the intended target. The investigation is ongoing.
Adams County detectives would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the shooting. Anyone with information can call (720) 322-1313.
Representatives from Swedish Hospital report Hodge to be in fair condition.
Hodge has played sparingly for the Nuggets this season. He played seven minutes in a game against Utah on January 20th, his most playing time in one game this season.

Jesus, I really hope he's alright... he's got a lot of talent, just hasn't had the time to show it on a deep denver team. My prayers are with him and his family.

Well, hopefully this expectation goes on:

ESPN.com - Julius Hodge of the Denver Nuggets was shot and wounded early Saturday, Adams County sheriff's deputies said.

The team said he is in fair condition and is expected to make a full recovery. Authorities said Hodge was struck several times in his lower body.

The sheriff's office said Hodge was driving on Interstate 76 in north Denver at about 2 a.m. when another vehicle pulled alongside and someone inside started shooting.

Really got to like him in his last year at NC State, even if it was just a handful of games. I think he could be one of the steals of last years draft, he's just gotten no PT on such a veteran, deep Denver team.
