Jermaine O'Neal scored 19 points in the first quarter! That is unbelievable! Maybe he is going to set some records. His team is playing the Bucks today. That is why Indiana is nothing without him folks! ;)

Since we are talking about high scores, Kevin Garnett has scored 45 pts and there is about a minute left inthe 4th. Crazy stuff tonight.

garnett must be ready to snap at any moment. he kicks butt and they got beat yet again.

55 ... nice job. *gawd i can barely say that. i really can't stand that wipe*

And how happy do you think the "Big Ticket" was to hear his 47 points were eclipsed by Jermaine O'Neal's 55?

Bwahahahahahaha!!!

Understandable; it's got to be frustrating when you go for 47/17/4, and your teammates let you down. Having said that...

Isn't it amazing all the 40-50 point games guys have been having lately? Someone must've spiked the NBA's areana's water with some Balco skit.

I'm more amazed at how many 40+ point games have come in defeat this season; hell, Kobe has four by himself!

I don't think it's coincidence that there are lots of losses associated with those huge individual performances.

Got the W to go along with it, all that matter to JO anyway. He deserves credit for being classy at the end as well.

With a little under 2 minutes left, the Bucks shifted their entire team D to just deny him the ball, and in return the other Pacers tried hard to get it to him. The first time they did, Fred Jones had an open layup attempt that he passed up to swing the ball around to JO, who after being urged by Reggie, took the 15 footer and missed. He immediately looked over to the bench and asked to be taken out because he didn't want to get out of the gameplan for the sake of stats. They obliged, and he sat out the remaining 1:30 or so instead of trying to go for 57 (Reggie's high) or 60+. I was proud of him double after that.

There has been many 50 point games this season:

Amare 50
Allen Iverson 51
Allen Iverson 54
Jermaine O'Neal 55
Dirk Nowiski(sp) 53

These are all the ones I can think of right now. I will find some more later.

Webber's career game against the Pacers (he went for 50+, 20+) was a Kings loss as well. I don't think these are coincidental.

This was a few years ago, I may add.

As an aside, nba.com has a poll regarding whose performace has been the most impressive. Somehow Amare's is not winning. Whats more impressive than 20/27 shooting!?!?!
