Jealous of Denver

Are you jealous of the Nuggets right now?

Ah, but that's going to be the fun part, Brick. I'm waiting to see if Melo even gets enough touches to come remotely close to 30 ppg. With Iverson coming in now and setting the tone, so to speak, what will happen if he gets off to a good start without Melo?

fortunately neither needs to score 30 ppg - and they obviously wont.

There's a lot more potential for real drama here than I think some people appreciate. From the actual on-the-court stuff, to Iverson trying to mentor Melo off-court and ending up being assaulted by Melo's mom's purse.

:p

both are very excited about the trade. thats good news.

wow no chance? even though RIGHT NOW we are a top 8 team?

your stats comparison also makes no sense - comparing what dre did in denver vs AI in philly? doesnt work. sorry.

your reasoning is pretty weak. you are ignoring all the positives he brings. im not saying its the perfect trade but to make it sound like a complete mess or just a bad deal is wrong. there are positives and negatives but in the end, trading dre for AI is an upgrade.

but i do agree itll take time before AI can fully mesh with the team. in the beginning itll be wierd and a little chaotic on the court but over time it should get better.

no chance. nuggets won't be able to hold off the clippers and hornets. the stats make sense. miller has always out performed ai for assists and rebounds. somehow you got the idea that a team scorers is better than a balanced team.

the negative is your team will not get it together this season, and you lost two draft picks for next season and you're still over the cap. by then, karl is toast and you got two high-maintenace scorers with yet another new system to work out the kinks in.

good luck with that one.

I was positive he'd finally crash into the basket support and break in half in his first game for the Kings. So no. :)

Also for our market and the way the team is now it would have been throwing gas on a fire. Another short-term attempted fix that turns into a mess to clean up later.

We'll see though, who knows. Right now my guess is that there's less than a 50-50 chance that Denver looks back on this trade fondly in a few years.

As far as players suddenly changing their game, learning to co-exist with other stars, "turning it around", well. I'll believe it when I see it, and maybe not even then if its a contract year.

jealous is when you think your wife is cheating on you. envious is when your friend (or enemy) has a smoking hot woman that you'd like to get with. similar, both associated with the color green.

Thanks for clearing this up. I feel a bit embarrassed by my mistake. I blame my verbal errors such as this on my "y" chromosome.

Now, if you could just help me understand the difference between 'coincidence' and 'irony'.........

they have no chance to make the playoffs.

Well now you're just being silly. No chance for a title might evne be a little strong, although they'll have to prove they are a true power. But no chance for the playoffs? You are aware there's ntoa single .500 team below them in the standing, right?

Had no idea Spurs fans actually considered the Nuggets as a rival or whatnot. Just because of one playoff series?

^ technically, no chance would mean they are mathmatically eliminated. they aren't. in my opinion, they won't make the playoffs. there are good teams that will get over a rough start and surpass them.

my opinions are based on my analysis. the nuggets are one of the teams i'd root for if the spurs were eliminated and they weren't.

didn't mean to sound like a know it all. coincidence is what many people call ironic. irony is what most people call sarcasm.

Nah, just leave as is. I think most people will know what the poll is asking about - even nbrans (smart alleck :) ).

Besides, technically speaking it says 'are you jealous of the Nuggets right now?' which means they have AI but not Melo.

You're asking us to put our thinking caps on...??

Your team has taken a huge gamble. Kings fans - having taken the same type of gamble with Artest, as far as most other fans are concerned - are in a better position to recognize that than a lot of others.

If it works for you, good. If it doesn't, it is going to set your team back for years. I'm not a Nuggets fan, so I really don't care one way or the other other than not wanting to see a Western team get appreciably stronger.

hold off the clips and hornets? am i suppose to take you seriously? sure itll be tough but you said NO chance. and somehow suddenly trading dre for an all time great takes us from a playoff spot to NO chance? sorry but i gotta laugh. apparently to you we should have kept dre, MAYBE made the first round instead of taking a chance at a title.

the two picks we lost were LOW. we were over the cap BEFORE the trade. let me know what other worthless info and assumptions you want to bring up to support your weak-at-best point. (here is one: talk about how AI cant hit the 3 and how thatll hurt even though dre hits one every other week or so)

your agenda is clear - and quite laughable.

of course its a risk. if it pays off, awesome. if not, damn. but the alternative was maybe making a first round exit. whoopee. fact is thats a trade you have to make and im proud our FO is not settling for being average like we were before.

no one said its a guarantee of anything but it COULD pay off. and just in case it doesnt, AIs expiring deal might be attractive later on and we can still build for the future with melo/jr/nene.

but of course we cant. we cant get better unlike the struggling hornets and clippers who will (for whatever reason) just turn it around. we get a superstar but no way that could EVER help us. it makes NO sense! the fact that despite EVERYTHING so far that has gone wrong we are still top 8 in the west. nah...that doesnt matter. logic is not your strong point.

Dude, you're on a Kings board arguing about the Denver Nuggets with a Spurs fan...

Logic isn't even part of the conversation.
