January 25th

I am wondering, how many of us will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to support a new arena for Sacramento?

I attended a meeting several months ago and there was hardly anyone around.

I hope that many of us will be there to show our support and it would be even better to wear our Kings jerseys, sweaters, T-shirts, jackets, hats, etc.

The meeting takes place at City Hall in Downtown Sacramento and it is scheduled for next Tuesday, January 25th at 6pm.

I hope to see many of you there.

I'm going to try my hardest to make it. I have a crazy work schedule that day, driving all over the place, but I want to be there. Thanks for posting the meeting info.

I am a little disappointed that none of the proposals really had a good financial proposal, because that's been the crux of the problem for 14 years. Now we'll have to wait until July to see if anybody can actually make their proposal financially feasible. *sigh*

I'm disappointed as there are 139 views as of my typing and only 1 reply.

Hopefully when I get home from Oakland I'll see a few replies of, "I'll be there."

I am one of the views, didn't think it was worth replying that I won't be coming down from Portland. Sorry! I do hope there is good turnout, I've seen first hand how organizing fans into a political force can help turn the tide with our MLS team in Portland. Thank you and good luck to all who can attend!

I intend to be there, but I think you knew that.

Does anybody know what the parking situation is?

Can't make it. Will be at the game with a client - work related marketing. Boss said to go, so off I go. Not complaining, mind you. I figure attending the game is showing my support for the team as much as attending a meeting. ;)

I appreciate your comments despite the fact you're from Portland. I am doing what I can along with others to form a group and help educate and raise awareness of how important it is we get a new arena in downtown.

I believe it's free after 6pm, but don't quote me on that.

The last meeting I attended I parked near the court house and an hour later I returned with no citation.

That works for me. Have fun!

I hope that you can make it. At least we still have a chance at building an arena and something special for Sacramento.

Living more than 500 miles its tough for me to go but I support everyone's efforts to land the arena. Crossing my fingers.

I wish I could make it to the meeting, however, I will also be at the game.

If you can get street parking, I do believe it's free after 6 PM. An alternative is the city hall public parking garage. It has entrances on 1oth and 11th sttreets, between I and J streets and an entrance on I street between 10th and 11th.

6 PM to 6 AM it costs $1.50 per half hour to a maximum of $5.00.

Because I have to drive all over for work tomorrow, it'll be tight for me timewise. I am going to try my best to be there.

In two weeks we'll know which direction we're going in with the arena situation.

The meeting agenda started at about 6:30pm or so and was over by 9:00pm or so.

The City Council is taking this very seriously and I like what they're doing.

Another interesting tidbit is the CORE group said they have found a "qualified" buyer for the Westfield downtown plaza.
