Utah gets picks, Vazquez, Hedo a much needed perimeter player/shooter and a decent backup C.

SAC gets Cap relief and get rid of Kenny who is a lockerroom cancer on the squad now. Not to mention uses Dooling as a rental for the backup PG spot while Douby still tries and works out at the PG spot in practices

Orl Gets AK to start at PF. Posting is his game. Stan would loooove him. And they desperately need a backup PF with this deal Kenny would thrive in their fast pace kind of game.

If we can find a way I'd rather get AK for ourselves and put him with Ron and Kevin. He'd help our inside D A LOT, we'd finally have a shotblocker as well as a lockdown perimeter defender, and he can run like Theus wants. We'd need a better post defender and rebounder at C though, call me crazy but I think a Kev/Ron/AK trio could contend.

nah men thats not crazy...i want that bad too....

putting Ron and AK together spells contenders imo

Yeah AK would be a great fit here man. I made a post on RGM but I'll put it here:

I've been thinking about this and IMO we NEED to go after AK. He is the unique type of player who can really help our D. Yea he's a combo forward/tweener/3-4/4-3/whatever you want to call him but he can do something no other frontcourt player on this team(besides Justin if he gets the minutes) does and that's BLOCK SOME FREAKING SHOTS. If we go after him we're gonna need a bigger C who can rebound and defend the post but I really feel like this could be the type of move that puts us back up there as far as being a good team. AK/Ron/Kevin are all under the age of 28(Kevin being the youngest at 24). This gives us a decent window to win with that core IMO.

Theus said he wants to run but he also said we need to improve our D. This move lets us do BOTH. We have the best perimeter defender in the league. It only makes sense to pair him with a shotblocker. AK will get 2-3 blocks per game. He's played PF before, he had his best season as a PF actually. The year after Malone's last(when Malone played for LA) he got 16/8/3 blocks and the year Boozer got injured real bad in 06 he got 15/8/4/3blocks. He's 6'9'' so he's got decent height for the position, he's just a little thin. Ron might be thought of as a bad guy but he always encourages his teammates and talks good about them, exactly what AK needs. AK will get his in a running offense. With Ron getting steals and AK getting blocks we'll have the opportunity to run. Even better-AK's value is down because of his demands, his season last year, and Deron Williams' comments about him.

All I have to say is DO IT PETRIE.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The thing that makes sense for us to go after him is, we need 1 more big time player. AK before last season where he got froze out of the offense(Deron Williams even admitted to freezing him out) was a big time player. He's always going to block shots and when played at PF he got some rebounds. This is the perfect opportunity to get a guy who can be a big time player and still is kind of young. His value is down because of his demand to get out of Utah, his problems with their PG, his problem with Sloan who didn't call any plays for him, his contract, and his production which will obviously bounce back if he's given a chance.

The way I look at it is his contract's not going to hurt us. With KT, Brad, Salmons, even if we got rid of Mike/Ron for expirings we're not going to have cap room for the next 3 years. His contract lasts 3 or 4 and it's big but we're screwed anyway for that amount of time so we might as well go all out IF we have a chance, which I believe AK gives us.

His production's going to go back up obviously. Sloan isn't the right coach for AK, plenty of people have hated him before. With a PG who will pass him the ball and if he can get out on the break he'll get his PPG back. If he gets to play PF again and not play out of position at SF, where his skills don't really fit well, his rebounds will go back up because he'll be closer to the basket and not defending on the perimeter. He gets traded and he's going to be motivated, it's like that for a lot of players.

He just makes sense for us. This is our chance to grab a very good player for less than market value. DO IT.

cant agree with you nooooo more than that bro.

An unhappy AK means King's got a shot. Petrie should try, but this is one of the better ideas for riding of KT.

I'd say if we could somehow trade SAR for a PG of the ilk of Chris Duhon with Salmons/Garcia/Douby, that the team we'd have assembled would be a VERY strong team in the West...top 4 IMO.

C: Brad
PF: AK-47
SF: Ron
SG: Kevin
PG: Duhon

off the bench we'd have:
Garcia/Salmons/Douby/Moore

That's a STRONG 9 man rotation...Justin Williams/Spencer Hawes would see spot minutes.

so Bibby just disappeared? That roster isn't doing much with Duhon at PG.

I'd like to see AK47 on the Kings, but despite what position he's played in Utah, he's not a PF. So it's either him or Ron starting at SF imo. Or i guess they could start together at the 2 & 3, but no thanks as long as Kevin is here
