Its too quiet

Just a couple of more hours until the draft and its just too quiet. I wonder if Petrie is on the phones trying to work up a trade or if he's just waiting until draft time.

Well, with Kobe, KG, and Amare's name thrown out there, anything we do is going to be relatively overshadowed. And most GM's are probably liking the fact they are not getting any attention. It's Petrie, of course he's talking deals to everyone.

Usually always is with Geoff, thats to be expected. he must have a heart rate of 2/4 or something.:D if he does make a trade, it wont be anything major, I dont think...usually his trades come before or after the draft...at least the bigger trades, anyways...usually the draft day ones are minor. I'm not expecting much today.

Just because we're not hearing anything, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that nothing is happening. If I remember from the last couple of years, this is traditionally a very quiet time as far as actual announcements. With the advent of cell phones, GMs are able to be much more discreet about their conversations and can pretty much make sure they aren't overheard.

Geoff Petrie has a thing about that, anyway, so I'd be very surprised to hear of anything until/unless Petrie wants it released. And I still firmly believe he pretty much warns anyone he's negotiating with that releasing info to the media prematurely is grounds for breach of contract.

...I still dont expect much, out of the ordinary, for today...we should still be drafting Spencer Hawes. I wonder who's slower in their prime, Hawes or Jack Sikma. Hawes or Paul Mokeski? Hawes or Brad Miller...oh, wait, THATS a toss up!

Normally trades dont happen until after a pick is made by a team who is able to access a player another team covets, just to make sure that the team gets the player they want. This happens during the draft or after it. There are probably trades being made but with the "IF" condition that a player be available on the board.
