Well, unfortunately I am not running this year.

But everyone vote anyway! ;)
Darn, wish you would of told me that before I went ahead and voted for the Brick/BBQ Lady ticket... :p

I am on hold with secretary of state to report that my voting place didn't give me a privacy sleeve...anyone else have that problem?

Nope, but I have heard many horror stories about polling place voting irregularities, partisanship, and mistakes all day. Your story pales in comparison, I hope that is the worst that can happen here, although my co-worker said she heard on the radio news that some scanning machines in Sacto county weren't working.

Well it may sound trivial but I really want to vote in privacy so when I took my ballot up to the machine the guy definitely looked at it when he ran it through. According to Secretary of state if you don't get that sleeve it is voter fraud on the part of the polling place.

The nation really does need a uniform polling method-or a set of standards for all states to adhere to. It just doesn't make sense to have methods varying from county to county and state to state. Electronic polling in some areas and shade-in-scantron type for others. And then what about Oregon where everything is done by mail.

---I shouldn't go on any more, other wise I might drift off into unwanted and shouldn’t be talked about on a sports forum territories.

You're right, but it's not practical being that all states are different in terms of size and operation. I'm just still trying to figure out how exactly the electoral college system works. No matter how much I read about it, I'm still like, "huh?"
:o

And with the budgets of each state...

The following is a public service announcement:

As many of you know, KF.com has a chat room set up for our members, which is used for game-time discussion. What some of you may not know is that the chat room is also open at other times for open discussion. You're welcome to talk about anything you want to in the chat room, as long as it's not during the game, at which time we keep the discussion on the game.

So, if there's not a game on, and you have any want or need to discuss topics with fellow KF members that are not encouraged on the board proper, now you have a place that you can go.

During these "open mike" times, there are pretty much only three rules:

1 - No name calling. Period. Do not seek to challenge this rule.
2 - Keep the profanity to a minimum. I'm not going to concern myself with a few cuss words here or there (I am a sailor, after all ;) ), but if every other word out of your mouth is "f---" this or "f---" that, you're going to be told to knock it off.
3 - English only. Consider this an extension of Rule #1; the only way the channel OP's can be sure that you're not calling someone names is if you're speaking their language.

Right now, we're experimenting with leaving the channel in "unrestricted voice" mode, meaning that anybody could go in there at any time and talk about anything. If we get any complaints about personal attacks being made, the channel will be placed in "restricted voice" mode, meaning that a channel OP will have to be present in order to "voice" channel members and allow them to broadcast to the rest of the channel.

So, there you have it. Hope to see you around the chat room sometime.

Slim

Oh I have a sailor's mouth too! Can't get enough of those four- letter- words.
