Isaiah Thomas

i think that maybe just maybe if the team runs plays they all play better.......maybe? Isaiah looked like a good pickup tonight

My question is: once Thornton is back, which rookie is going to get the 3rd guard minutes now? IT just made his stake to the role.

Jimmer looks hesitant his passes are a bit slow and he looks unwilling to take the shot when its there. This will all change as he spends more time in the NBA. Right now IT wants to be here and wants to show what he can do. He has alot to prove and so he goes right after it. They both make rookie mistakes and will continue too make those rookie mistakes until they are no longer called rookie mistakes next year.

Right now I go with IT he wants it more.

Edit
though jimmer shot more in this one specially early

I think Jimmer will get his mins cut into, but will still see a good chunk of time. My guess is we see far less, if any Cisco, and more Donte backing up Salmons.

I have a dam question: how the hell did we get this kid with the last pick ?

Been a huge fan of him since day one. His attitude and way he plays. Keep it up kid your outplaying our 1st round pick

IT was solid tonight but I won't jump on the "starter" wagon this fast. It's always good to have a nice spark off the bench. That's IT on this game.
My take on Jimmer is that he's awkwardly shooting the ball. Just not confident enough. I believe most of the shots he's taking are not the shots he really is comfortable with.
Jimmer is a jump shooter that relies a lot on his legs, maybe more conditioning would help his consistency amidst back to backs.
I'd like to see Jimmer shoot threes from a big man pick or on someone off guard.

IT needs atleast 20 minutes a night. I expect Jimmers PT to get cut into, hes just not ready. He needs to re-think his gameplan and make adjustments.

IT looks ready. The big reason i want him playing is because he made Cousins go off for us. If he can help cousins every night, then im all for it.

I say he starts and Salmons hits the bench, the guy is horrible, doesn't pass EVER and, well thats it, just doesn't pass while people stand around. I think I saw DMC call for the ball 10 times from him in the post and Salmons just looks him off and takes a forced jumper or layup, BENCH!

Put simply IT > Jimmer. Better passer, quicker/faster, more athletic, better ball handler, and just more confidence out on the court.

I am not a Salmons fan and wasn't when we picked him up. However, it sounds like people think he shoots and shoots and shoots. Without looking up his stats, does anyone know how many shots he lofted tonight? He had 2 assists and Tyreke had 3.

less salmons or no salmons at all. shift reke to spot 3 from time to time. MT at 2 guard. jimmer spot 2guard/PG. IT backup PG :)

wow if i had said this the sky would fall... but your right entity... jimmer just looks awful while the last pick in the draft is showing some ability to play at this level.

I wouldn't mind seeing this as the starting lineup for next gamE:

1 Thomas
2 Fredette
3 Evans
4 Hickson
5 Cousins

Let Thomas run the offense for the most part, perhaps alternating now and then with Jimmer or Evans. Let Jimmer's shots be from set up plays, don't make him have to create his own. Also, we could set up some screens and plays to get Reke easy drives and open lanes. It just might work.

Why? Just why? I'll never understand the fascination with small ball? IT and Jimmer in the backcourt? WE've already seen how bad it's been defensively when both are on at the same time. It just won't work for long periods of time.

I wouldn't like going that small. It would really put a lot of pressure on JJ and Cousins to rebound and defend the paint with our perimeter players giving up so much height.[

Yep, Thomas deserves some serious minutes for the remainder of the road trip. That will tell us if he should continue to get those minutes. But whether he starts or not, it's the minutes that count.

i would like to see

pg: Thomas
sg: Tyreke
sf: Greene
pf: Hickson
C: Cousins

6: Thornton
7: Jimmer
8: Thompson
9: Salmons/Garcia

Look at the 76'ers, they start a balanced lineup, and have pure offense off the bench in Williams, Young, and Turner

theres nothing wrong with bringing Thornton off the bench, he can just come in and be instant offense. Thomas is the closest thing to a "pg" that we have.

What is this Jimmer thing. I mean really. He hasn't shown anything to remotely deserve all these starting proposals, but you are relentless. So now we make ourselves small and tiny to keep him on the floor? So he can guard Kevin Martin even?

You would also have all of our remaining guards in the starting lineup with no reserves. Unless you are suggesting Thornton will be back and you'd still start both rookies over him.

Next game is not realy a great one for our Throntonless backcourt. The Rockets go tough physical bowling bowl Lowry, high scoring flopmaster Kevin, and then dirtywork roleplayer SF. If you have Reke and Salmons they can take Lowry and Maritn...and then leave eitehr IT or Jimmer on a SF?? Or they take Martin and the SF and leave Lowry to run over our little rooks? Its certianly not the time to break out TWO small rookies. That's asking for disaster.
