Isaiah Thomas # 22

All this talk about Jimmer (whose played incredible so far) has kind of masked Thomas a bit. But I think we got a steal with this guy as the last pick of the draft.

Dude is like flash, can shoot, get under peoples skin on defense, pass, major hops, and seems pretty clutch (judging by that end of the quarter play PW called for him, and that game winner he knocked down in college.)

Now I havent seen enough of him in college to make fair Judgement on his talent, but so far im impressed. He sort of reminds me of a pace-changing PG like Barea,Boykins, and not so much nate robinson.

What type of player does "IT" remind you guys of? What type of role can he have on this squad? is he a keeper?

I love our PA announcer Scott Moak...one of the best in the biz! I'd love to hear him just once mimmick old Pistons announcer Ken Calvert(one of my all time fav's)and do it in that kind of style. 'Isaiahhhhhhhhh THOMAS!!!' As in the below game intro:

He seems to have enough talent to play in the league right now which is amazing considering where he was picked. Probably pretty deep on a very deep Kings team at this point. In college at U-Dub he not only facilitated the offense he was a major scoring threat. Little 5'9" IT is very unlikely to be a reliable scorer (and doesn't have to be) in NBA but his quickness and suprising strength should make him someone who can have some attacking plays called for him - kind of like similar size JJ Barea. But he's nowhere near as talented as Barea - yet. At this point the only thing I can say for sure is he seems to be better overall talent than Pooh Jeter.

Great pickup. Have high hopes for him and i feel he may very well be apart of our young nucleus going forward

I like IT2 as well but I need to see more. JJ Barea could take over games on offense, we will have to see if IT2 can do that before we call him a JJB.

I might be the only person on here that thinks Thomas is the best Kings rookie. He has really good handles, gets into the lane, is able and willing to play defense.

I love me some IT22! He's by far my favorite rookie that we drafted. He just is scrappy and plays hard non stop, you can't fault a guy with his height playing his heart out whenever he gets a chance. I do hope he gets a chance to play this season.

I compared him to Nate Robinson last time, and I'll stick with that for now. That's both the good and the bad of it BTW. Fearless and aggressive, but also running toward selfish. Now in Nate's case the final adjective would be "stupid". Hopefully Isiah can find a better one.

In any case he's obviously made the team, and while its risky with so many young players, he may even have made the active roster as the 3rd PG. Its not just that he can play. Its that he is consistently forceful in his play. Again for better or worse. That gives him a chance to make more of an impact than Pooh Jeter did last year, and to be more than just an anoymous and entirely average player just filling out the 3rd PG spot.

I watched him play a lot at Washington. He's always reminded me of Spud Webb. He has that same cocky, chip on my shoulder attitude that Spud had. Like Spud, he has great leaping ability and would be fun to see in the slam dunk contest. I almost guarantee you he'd win it. Little guys always look more impressive in those contests. If Thomas had been two inches taller he would have gone in the first round. There were a lot of scouts that loved him.

Of the three you mentioned, I say Barea is the closest match. Robinson is too much of a shoot first PG. The only problem Thomas had in college is when he was defended by a taller player that was as athletic as he was. He had a couple of those games where he struggled. But in general, he was a tough matchup for anyone.
