Is this outlandish?

Kingsin07

G-League
After a few brews and a lot of Kings talk, a buddy of mine came up with some scenarios that may or may not be outlandish.

Artest and K9 or Reef for JWill and Haslem

Bibby to Atlanta for Marvin W and the 11th pick
(apparently they have tons of cap room and want a vet PG badly)

King lineup looks like this:

SF-M. Williams
PF-Haslem
C-Miller
PG-J Will
SG-Kmart

Bench
Cisco
2 draft picks--we like Hawes and Wright or Jeff Green
Douby
Salmons
SAR/K9
JWill II
Price?

Did the brews get to our heads?

I like it. Miami has Walker to fall back on if Sar or KT don't pan out. If we get Marvin Williams I don't think we need Wrigh or Green. That would leave 3 on the bench at the 2/3 not counting Douby (he might be a 2). Other than that i like the scenrio. We would clear about 8 mil off the cap with the Bibby move and with Marvin Williams and Jason Williams being enders thats another 12 mil next season. Setting us up in good shape for next years FA market hopefully going in with a good cap situation and maybe our #10 or #11 pans out or both.

trading a person doesn't mean you are giving up on them. They need a pg or they are going nowhere. Do you think that Charolette gave up on Kobe Bryant.

ATL has some upside with a solid PG in place. If they trade for Bibby, their lineup looks decent.

You have a starting backcourt of Bibby and Joe Johnson. That is a lot of scoring, the defense is suspect.

Your front court is Shelden Williams, Josh Childress, the 3rd pick who will likely be Horford/Brendan Wright/Yi Jianlian

The rest is thin with Speedy as the backup, an inconsistent, but super athletic Josh Smith, Zaza, Lorenzen as big's, etc

A starting lineup of Bibby, JJ, Shelden, 3rd pick and Zaza could look pretty good when ATL lands a big FA in 08/09. Marvin is a nice piece, but he is expendable when you look at what is there at #3 and the need for a vet PG.

I would rather be in Atlanta's shoes right now

The problem detail is Bibby. Why would he be willing to accomodate the Kings in this situation? Unless he excercises/declines his option or July 1st comes and he is still on the team, he is not tradeable.

If he is looking to regain some of his market value for the following off-season, why would he commit early and allow the Kings to send him to wherever? I could however see him declining his option early if his agent and the Kings could come to terms with another team that has the need for his services while at the same time giving him more visibility such as in Miami or Cleveland.

How many games did Kobe play for Charlotte? It would be giving up on Williams because when they drafted him they knew he was going to be a project and he's not even 21 years old... remember this kid didn't even start in college. If you use the second pick on someone then trade him two years later, even if it's to fill another need, it's giving up on them.

It looks like ATL has a team full of projects and they aren't working out. If they don't use 1 or 2 or 3 as trade bait they will be the same team they have been for the last 12 years. A top 10 lottery team.

Some of us may think the Hawks are insane, but they seriously think Marvin Williams is a future superstar. They ain't going to trade him for Mike Bibby.

Josh Childress. Now that's a player the Hawks want to trade.
