Is it me, or has TV become worth watching again?

This is the first time I've been to the lounge...

anyways

I'm realizing that there are a lot of good shows on TV these days, and I am really surprised. The only day that doesn't have anything good on is Saturday. Sundays is the continuous run of Malcom, Simpsons, Arrested Development, Deperate Housewives and Boston Legal. Honorable mention is Cold Case, I tape that to watch later. Monday is 24, Tuesday has Scrubs and the Amazing Race (much better now that Jonathan is gone), honourable mention to House. Wednesday is Lost (which deserves its own thread), Thursday is basketball (CSI is good but it doesn't grab me) and Friday is Bernie Mac and Battlestar Galactica.

How long will this run continue? I'm also glad to see NBC flaming out, heh heh heh...

The only show I watch on a regular basis is Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. They have some pretty heartwarming stories. Very enjoyable!

the only tv shows i actually watch on a week to week basis are

-Las Vegas
-Project Runway (my reality fix)
-Third Watch
-The OC (which i completely forgot to watch last Thursday night cuz i was so pumped up about the Spurs vs Kings game)
-North Shore
-Without a Trace
-Desperate Housewives (the best show on television)
-Boston Legal
-General Hospital (which i can't live without)
-Passions (the soap im almost embrassed to admit i watch cuz its so bad)

hm that seems like a lot now that ive listed them

but TV has always been one of my favorite hobbies....when the power goes out im in big trouble...i can't live without TV

Project Runway? I love that show, especially Austin.

:D

Geoff - I think there is a wider variety of shows available for viewing. I love Monk, I am totally and completely hooked on 24, Survivor is awesome, I live for the next installment of Big Brother, I enjoy King of the Jungle, etc. I am very fond of CSI (all varieties) and Law and Order (ditto). I like Boston Legal, Scrubs, Two and One Half Men, and many more. If I could only pick one show to watch, however, I think it would have to be Blue Collar TV. God help me, I love redneck humor.

:D

I loooove the TV...I saw one episode of Lost, it was pretty good. I think I'm starting to get attached to the new series Super Nanny.

i freakin love Rob on Project Runway...he's very easy to look at IMO

i can't stand Austin he's so freakin dramatic

my favorite is Jay

but Kara Saun is the best designer IMHO

Wendy she is a weirdo

well that covers everyone that is left

i was pissed that Kevin got booted last week over Wendy...me and my sister were in a total uproar

DH rocks, though I'd say the best show is Lost...and the Wire...

I saw one episode of that show and I was hooked....now I dunno when it comes on...:( ....i wanna see it....it comes on ABC right?

The thing I watch on TV:

START
Kings games
END

To be fair, I also watch South Park and Ali G, but I wouldn't get TV for that reason only because pretty much all the episodes can be downloaded online.
In Europe, I also watched Scherzi A Parte, which is Italian hidden camera show that makes retarded shows like Punk'd look even more retarded. But there's no reason to get TV for that either, because you can't see that show in USA, unless maybe you have the dish and you understand Italian.

survivor is my show. i LOVE that show.

other then that, it's usually the food channel when i'm bored, kings and giants games, and of course, sportscenter and fastbreak, and baseball tonight.

i'm not a huge TV person. i usually have it on in the background, or am doing something while i watch it. i only pay full attention to the kings and survivor.

OMG, I only watch my LP channel anymore, I'm an NBA homer, how embarrassing.

I used to watch E.R. pretty regularly...is it even still running? I watched the first episode of the NANNY show (the reality one), She is GOOD! I watched the Home Makeover tonight (the first segment), and it made my cry ... I wondered how I might deserve such treatment as a home makeover, I suppose just having tacky eclectic decor probably wouldn't qualify, sigh. I like the the Cold Case shows -- I was off work for three months about five years ago and I became addicted to watching the Court T.V. trials, now THAT'S reality T.V. ;)

the only show that i really don't miss....is smallville....superman, c'mon it's a good show. Plus Kristin Kruek is hot!!! And yes, Im 22 years old and i watch a teenager show..........so what!!!! he he.:o

I am absolutely addicted to 'Lost', as most of you on here already know! I can't remember the last time I got so addicted to a TV show like that.

I also like 'Desperate Housewives', although it has been getting on my nerves lately. I don't know how long I'll continue watching it.

'American Idol' when it gets to the final audience-performance round, I don't care to watch the audition process anymore as it has gotten old.

'Surreal Life' the only junk reality show I watch. I just like seeing the performers whom I used to watch in their heyday and what they're up to now.

Yeah, it comes on 8 pm on Wednesdays, 7 pm Central and Mountain (that's me!) time. The payoff better be worth it whenever they get into what the heck goes on on that island...

I tried checking out Alias now that it comes on after Lost, i never got into it on the Sunday night slot. I'm still not into it, I watched one episode and it was just ok to me. I'd watch it if nothing else were on, but I guess the appeal it has is lost on me :D

There is a lot of decent stuff out there I suppose, but not all of it appeals to me. I've never had the desire to see Gilmore Girls, for example, though i've heard rave reviews about it...ditto for Everybody Loves Raymond, which IS a good show but it's not "must-see" for me.

I've been spoiled by Scrubs and Arrested Development :D I don't think I can watch another laugh-track comedy.

Agreed. The way they keep building it up and then not delivering, it better be hella good! But then, what would be left of the show? It might not ever be found out. At least Ethan makes his return in the next new episode. That guy is as creepy as they come, I can't wait!

Even though the shows are by the same creator, I have zero interest in watching Alias. And I know the show has gotten aclaim, but from the commercials, it simply looks like it's all about how sexy or skimpy Jennifer Garner can look-like another version of 'Charlie's Angels'! No thank you.

The Wire...The best show I've seen on television...ever. I'm anxiously awaiting news on a fourth season (knock on wood).

Ditto. I only started to watch it last month on DVD after I heard everyone talking about it, and I am hooked. I can't afford to get HBO just to watch it :D but I would definately buy the DVD set. In fact, I'd have to watch it on DVD, I can't wait for a week to see what happens next :)

Yeah, and they say Claire has amensia?? :o

Jen Garner is more "girl-next-door" cute to me than "va-va-voom" hot. I'll save va-va-voomness for Bree Van Der Kamp and Gabrielle Solis...

I prefer Stargate 1, SG-Alantis....Can't stand the new Galactica. ( I can't seem to get beyond the fact they made Starbuck a female)

I also watch Kings game, and X-files reruns. ;)

Oh get over it, Starbuck was ALWAYS a female !

<I've never seen the new one, btw>

Much better than the old...the Starbuck character aside. ;) Not a children's story anymore. Pretty coldblooded at times actually. :)

I love and hate Lost, so I never miss it. I think it is a good show, but I hate being left in the dark.
I will be sad to see NYPD Blue go at the end of this season. I have watched it for years, through good seasons and bad seasons. But at least The Shield will be cranking back up soon.
I like the SciFi Friday shows. I'm a little confused about Battlestar though. I don't remember much from the old series and I guess I missed a movie or something that preceded the episodes they are showing now? I get the gist of what is happening, I just wish I had seen it. There's a little too much making out for a Sci Fi show IMO. So the deal is they don't just park it on a planet somewhere and settle down because those things will find them?
