Third year and above rarely join summer league. I think Ron Ron was the only older established player ever to participate in Summer League and that was only because he was insane.

And yet two players who will be starting for Philladelphia next year, one of whom just won college player of the year, are suited up and playing for them. Granted those guys aren't third year players, but wouldn't it be a good idea to get to know your new teammates sooner rather than later? It's not like he'd be playing with scrubs out there. There's a pattern to this behavior if you're paying attention.

Third year is still fairly common. Spence was supposed to play last year but didn't and there was all the fan hoo-hah about it. But fourth year ... now that's pushing it

Did Spence ever play in a summer league? I know he regularly skipped pre-season workouts. So yes, I think it is valid to point out that he appears to be taking the lazy approach to the offseason again. I honestly thought that being in a contract year he would be doing everything in his power to lock up a nice new fat contract (and we'd likely be the ones snookered in) but if he plans on playing himself into shape yet again... oh who am I kidding, he'll still get the MLE from somebody. Thankfully it won't be us.

Tyreke Evans just won rookie of the year and he's playing with Team USA. I have no problem with him skipping summer league. And I don't care what Hawes does either since he's no longer on the Kings. I just thought it was funny, that's all. There's always some excuse with that guy.

You know, I didn't say a single bad thing about the guy the entire time he was on the Kings. As long as he wears the Kings jersey he gets my respect. So I suppose I'm just venting now that he's no longer with us. Sorry if I offended you. I don't have anything against him personally. He's just an incredibly frustrating basketball player to try and cheer for.
