No Peja…
For the second straight game the Kings played without their All-Star small forward Peja Stojakovic, but unlike in San Antonio the Kings came away with the all-important victory this time, something they couldn’t do during their last trip to the dreaded Texas Triangle.

The thing that was most impressive about the win was the way Sacramento played with fire in the last few minutes of the game and in overtime. The Kings could have easily collapsed as Scott Padgett continued to bury shot after shot to erase Sacramento’s one-time eight-point lead, but they fought through it and managed to tie the game on Chris Webber’s unbelievable spinning three-pointer.

Watching the team play with such emotion without one of their best players and come away with an unbelievable win had to get even the most stoic of Kings fans fired up over one of the best victories of the season.

Random Thoughts...

**Everytime Scott Padgett hit a three pointer, it looked like an instant replay from the time before. He must have caught the ball just above the top of the three-point line half a dozen times and just fired with the ball hitting nothing but net each time. By the end of the game it just became ridiculous because you knew that it was going in everytime he shot it.

**Cuttino continued to show how much of a second-half player he is. He hit two huge three-pointers in overtime that ended up playing a huge role in the Kings’ win.
**Do you think Tracy McGrady wishes he could redo that last 10 seconds of the fourth quarter over? First, instead of driving to the basket with his team up three points and the shot clock running down, TMac hoisted up a crazy three-pointer that ricocheted off the glass to Brad Miller, giving the Kings almost five seconds to get off one last play. McGrady then failed to foul Chris Webber on the last play before he could shoot, allowing the tying three-pointer to get off.
**It was good to see Eddie House hit some shots. He has struggled shooting from the field since coming to the Kings, which is uncharacteristic of the mini-sparkplug.
**Jon Barry has got to be happy. He went from no playing time on one of the worst teams in the league in Atlanta, to major minutes with a potential playoff team in Houston.
**Play of the Game, Part Deux: How about Webber’s driving lay-up over Yao Ming with his back to the basket to end the third quarter.
**I know Padgett had a good game, as did McGrady, but you just get the feeling that Ming should be getting a lot more touches and should be doing a whole lot more for this team

Chris Webber

This had Scott Padgett’s name written all over it, until the end of the fourth quarter when Webb took over.

“I kept telling the team we were going to go into overtime. I said either Mike was going to hit it or Cat was going to hit it. And if one them didn't hit, I damned sure was going to hit it."
-Chris Webber

Shot of the game? How about shot of the year. Chris Webber’s three-pointer was in one word: magnificent.
