Info on the next WNBA Draft

From the WNBA website, here's information on the next WNBA Draft and the pre-draft camps:

After reading the article, I noticed a few differences from previous drafts.

(1.) The draft is being held two weeks earlier than usual. Last year, it was held in mid-April, not early April for this year.

(2.) I am guessing that the earlier draft date might have something to do with the league wanting an earlier schedule, to allow time for the World Championship Series scheduled later on in Autumn.

(3.) The Monarchs have the #13 and #14 picks. (#14 was originally the Connecticut Sun's pick but traded it as the part of the Katie Feenstra-for-Margo Dydek deal with the San Antonio Silver Stars. When the Monarchs' traded Chantelle Anderson to the Silver Stars, the M's received that pick.)

(4.) For the first time, the WNBA Draft will not be in New York City. Instead, it's in Boston, where the women's NCAA Final Four will be held. (there were previous pre-draft camps in Chicago years ago.)

(5.) I can't help but to think that perhaps Boston could be the next WNBA city, either as an expansion franchise or to move an existing Eastern Division team (like Charlotte). I am hoping for the latter, since I believe the league has enough teams as it is.
