Inconsistant Play.

I'm going to harp on this again - because - well, it makes me feel better about life.

Is there a successful team in this league that doesn't have a post presence? Perhaps one could say the Sonics of last year, but that was an abberration of epic proportions.

So - every night the Kings suit up - I think to myself that this might be the night they decide to play inside out. RA talked about it - but I've yet ot see it executed.

Last night - I watched Peja barf up shot after shot. I watched Bibby do the same thing. I watched Bonzi do the same thing. We seem enamored with the 20+ foot jumper and absolutely enthralled with puking up 3s.

Granted - Peja eventually caught fire and hit some shots. But, it was too little a LOT too late. So, sure he had nice looking numbers - but his inconsistant play killed us. It's his 9 missed 3 pointers in the first half that helped build up an unsurmountable lead.

Now, I'm not saying that Reef should get the bulk of the shots. I'd love him to score 20+ a game, and I think we'll be more successful ... but that's a guess. I'm advocating that we get the ball to the LOW POST (and I'm assuming we actually know what the low post is) and play off of it.

This top of the FT line stuff is for the birds. It's successful sparcely ... and worse yet ... we only try to shoot long jumpers off of it. We forced the ball to Peja for 4 TOs on that play (when other options were extremely open).

It's frustrating to me - I can't stand this "one on one" ... jack up a covered shot type of offense. We won't have any long term success with it. Jump shooting is inconsistant ...

This game is just a micro-view of the season as a whole. Even though Peja's jumper came out and looked nice at the end of the game ... it is what cost us the game to begin with. (that and TOs)

One thing that made me happy was putting Bonzi on the bench. This guy is a "play killer". He clogs the lane, he is out of position and brings his man on top of people that are supposed to get the ball. I don't know if he's doing it on purpose to "get the ball" or if he's just not playing inside the offense. But, it's frustrating. Plus, we just have too many scorers on the floor.

Putting Hart out there allowed Bibby to play his true position "SG" and gave the ball handling to a guy that isn't looking for his own shot.

I think we should try this lineup for a few games and bring Bonzi off the bench.

I don't see it going down.

If we change coaches - we'll see Reef in the low post.

Bonzi coming off the bench, too, most especially.

Don't be too suprised if this happens.

Hart closed out the game. That's a HUGE signal and a HUGE slap in the face to Bonzi. It may be a wake up call, but it may be more.

That would be a spectacularly bad idea. We intentionally traded for a stick of dynamite. You don't go and light the fuse, esepcially given the fact we have no better options.

Benching him for Hart in the 4th quarter was the right move -- Bonzi was having an awful game. Returning him to the bench permanently is knowingly creating a cancer on your team just when we can least afford any more distractions.

I agree, but you can't allow him to play however he wants.

If Bonzi returns to Bonzi-ball ... then I say sit him right next to the coach.

Right now, Bonzi is one of the weakest links on the floor. He's playing with heart and passion for the most part - but he's also the only one NOT trying to play into the team concept. (in my opinion)

It's Bonzi or bust from what I can see ... and it drives me up a wall.

You can see it happen too. He puts his head down and ... goes. Most of the time there is a better option.
