I still believe that bringing in Bonzi and Shareef was the correct move, especially when you consider their relatively modest contracts. Bonzi has provided energy all year long, though he does have an annoying habit of missing easy post shots. He and Shareef were arguably the two best players on the Kings roster prior to their respective injuries. Neither demands the ball and both score within the offensive system without reverting to 1on1 basketball. In the first half of the season, it was not our starting five which proved problematic. They were, in fact, one of the most productive starting units in basketball. Our struggles centered primarily around our bench. They were either inexperienced, ala Garcia and Martin, or they pouted and gave no effort, ala Kenny Thomas, to show that he was not happy in his back-up role. On a side note, my favoriet KT quote was his proclomation two weeks ago that starting or coming off the bench did not matter to him anymore. Well it is easy to say that once you pout your way into a starting line-up.
Anyways, I digress. My point was simply that Bonzi and Reef have IMO proved themselves to be valuable pieces of the TEAM. The team would IMO be more productive with toth of them starting; however, they rose above the shallowness which had up to then been hurting our team. If either of them pouted about being demoted to the bench I really do not believe this team would be sitting in the #7 team. The only change I would like made is for Reef to play 25-30 minutes off the bench. Bonzi is already getting those minutes and Reef being the second best defender, and best post presence warrants him playing around half the PF minutes. Furthermore, we do not need Miller playing 48 minutes per game. It is ridiculous for Addelman to play him so much.
