In history, what has been the hardest trade for you to take??

Probably the thread should be expanded to be hardest "move" rather than just trades, to include letting Vlade and JJ walk, exposing Gerald Wallace, etc.

No hijacking of MY thread!! ;) Seriously though, I would just like to concentrate on trades in Kings history. Otherwise it just gets too vague and confusing and evolves into arguments.

The one with Vlade was hard.. but I gotta say Christie gone.. Im so used to watching Christie on the court in a Kings jersey..being 5 years or more on the kings.. yeah its really complicating. Just one player means everything.

I'd rank them

1. Jon Barry. I had just gotten his jersey and I loved the way he played and spoke about basketball.
2. Pollard/Hedo. Miller has been good, but I still think the amount of depth the team lost has cost us more than Miller can give us.
3. J Will. I'm more a true point guard guy and losing a true point is tough. The funny part is Jason lost his job mainly because of his defense, but his has improved over the years while it looks like Bibby's has gotten worse.
4. Christie. Maybe this one deserves higher, but I don't know. Makes the team look dumb for pulling it off. Feel like the Mavs and their total disregard for defense.

If you remember correctly, Hedo and Pollard were not even seeing any playing time at the end of the '02-'03 season before they were traded. Sure it was nice to have them as insurance on our bench, but Brad Miller is a two time all star and when there is a serious lack of talent at the center position in today's NBA I consider that trade to be a great deal. If we hadn't acquired Miller do you really think that the Kings would be as good as they are today? If so then who do you think would have been playing center?

Definately this one. I'll never forget in the '02 playoffs against the Mavs when DC came back on the floor after seeing Peja get injured after him and he single-handedly won the game for us and basically the series. He's been my favorite King ever since.

i would ay this one: Doug Christie for Cuttino Mobley and Michael Bradley.

This one. Honestly I would rather see ANYONE in our team go than him. (not considering winning or anything like that)

Well said. I feel the same way. My initial reaction to this was two-fold: I felt like the Kings were going to get better but I also had this thought, "Gee, I'll bet in a week or two Christie jeresys will be on clearance, I am getting one for sure! He represents, to me, a magical time in Kings history and Kings dominance. And a Christie jersey will remind me and others of that magical time... remember when he beat up Rick Fox and that time when........."

The Hedo trade was hard for me, but not as much as this one. This is, for me, hands-down the toughest one to deal with because of two words. Doug Christie.

This was the most shocking and unexpected. Considering I don't remember Petrie making a major move during the season.

No trade I would say was harder then others. When the Cwebb trade went down I had a lot of questions, especially since he just got in trouble for the Wacky Weed and said he wasn't gonna show up here.

Petrie is the man thats all I can say.

Its funny how we have the best backup center in the league in Pollard or so most sports gurus say, but when we trade him he cant see any minutes even as a backup!

This trade seems to be the most emotional I've felt and I'm for the deal and everyting. I think the Jwill for Bibby is just behind this. This one probably got me thinking the most though.

I was angry when J-Will was traded, I was a pretty new b-ball/King's fan and had become attached to the team as it was for the two years before. But hey, good trade. ;)

Losing Pollard & Hedo was worse, but Brad & Bibby would be very difficult to ever replace, it's true now!

Trades don't really bother me as long as they have the real potential to make the Kings better. The ones that bug me are the ones made for non-basketball reasons -- salary dumps, personality conflicts etc. Because those are just stupid and hurt the team.

That's why while I think the time had probably come for Doug to be moved -- he was clearly on the way down -- I really hope this wasn't done to shed Doug's contract. If we just let Cutino walk in the offseason with nothing in return THEN I will really be bothered by this one.

1. J-Will trade absolutely....My favorite player since MJ, was shocked when he was traded....He lights up the Kings, brings excitement and made the Kings a fun basketball to watch, with C-Webb and Divac's help....

2. Jon Barry trade....My favorite bench player...The worst trade ever by the Kings for me....No comparison, Cleaves who? Yeah right he was famous in college, but nobody in the NBA...The Kings get notting by that trade...I'll say it again, the worst ever!

3. This Doug-Mobley trade....My favorite defensive player...Traded to Mobley, one of my most hated player....Never liked Mobley since he was a Rocket...For me, he's a selfish player, ballhog, turnover prone, one on one player or two man player(with Steve of course)...I don't know if i will like him here in the Kings...Hated him since I saw his game! Still shocked until now....months to recover i think :(

4. Hedo-Scott-Brad trade....My starting SF player(Hedo) for the Kings than Pedja, was upset about the trade, but it turned out to be a great trade...Still, like Hedo to be the SF over the soft Pedja....Pollard, my favorite hustle player, but Brad is better! Just missed Scott's presence....

All of my favorite players in the Kings now are gone.... :( I'm still counting for you, Bibby! And the Kings.....

Yeah but thats not a knock on Pollard or Hedo, thats a coaching issue.

This one is the hardest for me. JWill was fun, but I immediately saw Bibby as a better player.

I think this is the hardest because Doug was such a nice, just plain cool guy. The consumate professional, while JWill had his "issues." Barry hurt too, but not like this.

The comment about Hedo and Pollard not seeing any playing time was in response to a post about how the Kings got more out of Hedo and Pollard than they are getting out of Brad, which is completely off base and lacks any merit at all.

When Vlade was interviewed he said the kings didn't make him an offer....I have no reason to think he was lying. Still technically he wasn't traded but they let him go.

Still Vlade leaving was the hardest but this comes real close I guess because it was so unexpected.

i can see how j-will's trade could be hard, but i wasn't a kingsfans back then and it didn't do much to me.

that leaves this one. saying bye to christie is definitely saddening.

This one is tough as hell, and may be #1 with me also. Before this it might have been Theus for a first round pick that turned out to be
