OK, This post may break a few of the rules so deal with it because I'm so mad right now I can't see straight!
I purchased Playoff Tickets last Friday through a "special opportunity" for group leaders. I did several searches to find the best seats I could. My wife is a little on the short side so I found some seats behind the railing in sec 111 that were perfect. I paid for the round 1 games and received them by PDF file. I sold game 2 to a friend at my Dad's work because I can't afford to go to more than 1 game.

Today I get a call from Arco saying that they need the tickets back and if I don't agree they'll just take them anyway. They offer me some worse seats (in my opinion) and ask me to pay more for them.:mad::mad:.

This really SUCKS!!! I was really getting fired up for the playoffs and at this point I don't think I'll even watch and don't be surprised if KingsFans is gone soon too. I can't see spending anymore of my time or money to support this organization when they just screwed me!

Call a Lawyer
I suggested that possibility to the person who called me and she said that legally they can do whatever they want because they own the seats not me. She said the ticket is only an agreement to rent the seat and can be revoked at anytime for any reason.

I'm thinking about doing the Call 3 or Call Kurtis thing but I'm not sure what they could do to help me at this point. I've been informed that the tickets have been removed from my account and the bar codes are invalid.

It's great to be a loyal Kings Fan!!!!

JGar - Call Joe Maloof's office personally. This is ridiculous. NO FAN should be treated that way.

Wonder if those seats are for Camera's or something? Did they at least tell you why they needed to recall those seats?

Eitherway I would be pretty outraged, I agree do what VF said. Contact the Maloofs office.

They said the season ticket holder who had the seats wanted them back, didn't mean to give them up, or something.

#9
That's terrible ..... once the season ticket holder decided to sell, he/she should also release ALL RIGHTS for that game.

Now the TICKETING PEOPLE are coming to you with AN ULTIMATUM - give 'em back, besides - we're gonna give 'em back to the season holder regardless of what you say/think/do.

I'd give calling the Maloof's office directly a try, just as VF suggests.

It's not your mistake, yet you are being held accountable to suffer the consequences.

That is wrong ....

If that's the case, I'd make more calls and fight it.

If they need them for cameras or press, you may not have much of an arguement, even if it is lousy PR and poor planning.

Good luck - Maybe the Maloofs will give you courtside seats to make up for it?

Well that all sounds odd. I would assume these people know someone, I don't see them just screwing someone else over like that. Not sure how the entire deal works but if they gave up the tickets then they should be the ones forced to go with the other seats.

How did they know you had the tickets? Any luck with contacting the Maloofs office?

See if you can get a local news crew to go down to the CORPORATE office with you and tell them you want to return the tickets to Joe or Gavin in person. If you can't get local news supprot (which is likely) see if a film student wants to go or in absence of that a frind with a vidio camera. Say what you like about Micheal Moore, the tactic of FILMING corporate jerks in action has it's advantages!

You might also mention your relationship to this message board...you know, the "#1 Sacramento Kings Online Community"...your issue could create a whole lot of negative energy around here...and they should know that.

I had a problem receiving some of my season ticket function packages a few years back and was really pissed off about it. When I voiced my displeasure to some one that actually had some power to do something they took excellent care of me. I think you need to call and keep calling if you have to. Tonight is fan appreciation night. Call today and ask them how much they appreciate you.

Ah man...well that sucks...there's got to be a better solution than what they're offering you, though.

Of course they side with the person who will threaten to take away their thousands upon thousands of dollars they pay for their season tickets every year rather than with the person who's only paying them for a single game.

It wasn't just for a single game. It was for the entire playoffs!!!

That's awful Jeremy:mad: I'm so sorry. You need to fight this. I'm not sure how but you got some good suggestions and please let us know how this turns out. We have the best fans in the country and deserve to be treated better than that especially as you put all your time and hard earned money into running this site. I don't see how the person who had the tickets can just say they want them back, that's wrong! Good luck. Let us know if we can help.

Hmm.. definitely sucks. But you bought these from a season ticket holder, not from the box office? In that case I suspect you may be out of luck.

If you make a big enough stink though they may be more willing to accommodate you.

Dear Maloofs Sports and Entertainment,

Now is your time to step up to the plate. Jeremy has spent thousands of hours, and an untold amount of his own money to operate this site for several years now.

Please do not let him (and all of us) down. We love KingsFans.com. It is, by far, the best (and most active) internet site for thousands of us who LOVE THE KINGS.

I wouldn't doubt that it isn't even the season ticket holder that wants them but just someone else with more influence than me.

They knew I had them because I purchased the whole playoff package through the Kings Ticket manager. If they would have sold them as single game tickets I don't see how they could have got them back.

The other problem is there were other good seats available on Friday that I would have taken, but now they're all gone. They only gave me one option to switch to and I've sat there before and my wife only saw about half the game because it's real flat there. Also I think the seats are actually smaller if that's possible. On top of that they wanted me to pay the $30 per ticket extra for the privilege of being jerked around.

No, I bought them from ticketmaster through the Kings ticket manager.

I can tell you what happened because the same thing happened to a good friend of mine. He has had season tickets since they have been here and this is the first year they changed the payment format. He was confused and put in his money but apparantely this was only for the tickets for next year and didn't apply to the playoffs. He then received a notice saying the Kings were sorry that he didn't want playoff tickets and his seats were given to someone else. He then complained and said he had intended to buy playoff tickets and wasn't sure what happened. They said they had already sold the seats and he was SOL. He then complained higher up and ended up getting his seats back(they are not in the section you indicate by the way).

I think the team is more interested in appeasing a long time season ticket holder than someone who just bought playoff tickets...IMHO. I don't think you will get very far with your appeal because, as indicated, they are the Kings seats and they can revoke them at any time.

Regardless if someone was "confused" or not it was still their mistake not mine. Now I'm SOL because all the other good seats are gone.

And there in hangs the tale. The ethical thing to do is also the best thing to do froma PR stand point... find a way to make you happy. No doubt some better seats could be found for at least one of the games. Unfortuantly sometimes getting peopel to do the RIGHT thing is difficult beceasue the worng thing is so much easier and profitable (shot run). Hence my suggestion about media involvement.

I think they're working on it. In fact, I know they are... let's see what happens before we actually light the torches.

You guys are too funny. Seriously, Maloofs Sports and Entertainment are trying to make up for what has been described as a human error. They do not want Jeremy to "pay for someone else's mistake.
