I'm kind of surprised seeing LA Lakers like this

Only 6.3 sec left in OT and Lakers are up by 4. What a shame that the refs literally took a win away from the Jazz. The game was already won. The call was made after the clock expired in regulation. The Jazz should protest this game. It was taken away....literally taken away.

Lakers win in O.T.

The call was made with 0.8 secs left on the clock. No one could tell because the arena was so loud. Legit call too. Surprised they made it.

Utah shot 53 free throws, btw.

Good god it was a HORRIBLE call, there was absolutly NO contact what so ever untill AFTER the shot when Kobe hit brown on the arm with his follow through. Homers

I was at work..didn't see the game..didn't even comment on the call, just the reaction. I'm far less of a homer than many.

The defender jumped into Kobe's hip while he was casting the shot.

Maybe they should get Ralph Nader involved. ;)

Ralph didn't actually watch the game from what I hear, but nonetheless he will feel free to claim institutional bias against the Jazz (53 free throws just ain't enough).

Don't listen to them. Kobe was bumped. They're assuming that contact on the wrist that happened as a result thereof was what the refs whistled. It wasn't. And the foul was not called after the buzzer. There's a clear whistle with time remaining on the clock.

And that was a clean block by Marion on Brad Miller. No goaltending.

wow, if these last two posts do not certify your homerism, i don't know what possibly can. kobe, above and below, was touching absolutely nothing. it is true that devin brown had a little inclination towards kobe but no way in hell did he touch him whereever it might be. kobe, probably thinking that he had missed the shot, swayed his right arm and hit devin brown's arm and used that contact as a lever point to fake a hip bump. that was an atrocious call, but lakers getting lucky with the refs; what else is new?

Of course it was a foul, I heard Kobe's classic, "arrghhhhhh!!!"

Gargy, I have always liked the fact that I could count on you for some unbiased opinion. But, there was no foul of Kobe. Never was a foul. They played that from many angles and Kobe was not touched...no way...not at all. Now, I will admit there was contact. After the shot, Kobe clearly swung his arm out and down to the right, initiating contact with Brown's arm. It was not even on a follow thru. He had to change the angle of the trajectory to make that contact with Brown. Game over. Jazz win. But, hell no, we gotta call a foul and let Kobe have an opportunity to tie the game and send it to overtime.

I hate the Jazz.....but I still felt badly for them. They had a win yanked away from them. Stupid and incompetent refs.

"down, and to the right...down, and to the right...down, and to the right..." ;)

Why? Last two games the Lakers have looked completely horrid. Both their wins were extremely lucky. Their own commentators said so.

At this point though I'd be willing to say (mostly out of spite) that they are better than the Kings. :)

But I don't think they'll fare too well on their upcoming road trip in any case.

Isn't anyone else struck by the irony of this whole thing?

The Lakers denied us our "chance." We hate them with every fiber of our being, if most posts are to be believed.

At this point, we actually owe them a debt of gratitude.

Why you ask, as the hackles on your back begin to rise?

It's pretty clear if you think about it.

They may have kept us from the top of the mountain, but right now the only thing that kept us from plummeting right into the bottom of the Pacific Division abyss and totally smashing to little teeny pieces on the rocks was that the Lakers were already there to break our fall.

;)

i'll ask again, when do we play the hawks or blazers? and when do the lakers play the pistons? lol....
