If there is anybody that can recommend a decent hotel in and around Madison Square Garden and/or the Theatre District. I am willing to pay from $150 to $200 per night.

My extensive search has been exhausting and I am running out of time. I am hoping there are some NYC residents or experts on the board that can help me out.

We stayed at the New Yorker across the steet from Madison Square garden.
Do you have AAA? they have a great book with lots of hotel listings.
My friend & I are going as well...will you be attending the WNBA all-Star Game? It's a fun time. I'm waiting for the official announcement before I book a hotel. Good luck!

My mom lives there and I visit her frequently. One time long ago I stayed at the Milford Plaza Hotel and was very impressed. It's right in the heart of the theater district. There are tons and tons of lodging options in NY and they're all competitive with one another, so it's hard to believe you can't find some kind of deal.

I am going for the two day Monarchs road trip July 6th at MSG and July 7th in Washington D.C.

It's not that i can't find a deal, it is about finding the right place that isn't a flea bag at $200 per night. . I have been reading other traveler's reviews at a number of hotel establishments and it is making me nervous. I already have my plane tickets and now it is about rolling the dice on a hotel and hoping i win.

Oh roll the dice already. No matter how nice your hotel is, the LAST thing you're going to want to do NYC is stay in.

If your mom lives there, then why did you stay in a hotel?
