if we win? if we lose?

heading into the playoffs, what will everyone's reaction be if we won or if we lost tonight?

i dont know about you guys, but i feel that THIS is a statement game. tho we are still not at full strength, i wouldnt feel as confident going into the playoffs with a loss to a team with such terrible defense and a point gaurd that bibby has dominated in the postseason for years.

I don't really think it would be a statement if we won by 50 because frankly this game doesn't matter for Phoenix.

That said, wins are usually better than losses, even if the other team doesn't give their all.

I would hate to go into the playoffs with a 3 game losing streak, but we ended last year in worse shape but ended up ok. I would like to see Bobby get some playing time and Mobley to find his shot again before the playoffs. Other than that, rest the starters, dont want another freaky injury

Other than the enjoyment of watching a win versus a loss, there will be very little difference in reaction to either. Tonight matters very little when it comes to outcome. It is like the pre-season, you want to see your guys play well when they are out there, but nobody gets tons of minutes. You hope for a win and a good showing, but if you don't get that it doesn't really mean anything.

It's not like if the Kings play poorly tonight it means they have no heart and they are doomed for the playoffs. Any criticism you could levy at them for bad play could have been said already. Also, if they play well, it will be encouraging, but they have played well before also. In a game that is meaningless in the standings, there's not much you can gauge from the outcome.

Anything short of a win tonight and I'll be disappointed. I just can't support the team that can't win at least 50 games. :)

I do not think you are giving Phoenix nearly enough credit. They are clearly a better basketball team than we are at this point. Heck, there may only be 2 or 3 teams in the league who can even argue the issue. I suspect they will falll in the playoffs based on lack of experience and lack of rebounding/defense, but this is still a heck of a team that just got done annihilating us a couple of games ago. If they beat us, it will hardly be a shocker, nor any reason to be any less encouraged than we are now. And given that one or the other, or maybe even both, teams may not be really bringing their "A" game, any statement either way is just about impossible.

I know that this game won't effect us seeding-wise, but I really hope we can win this game and get fifth straight 50 win season. I'll be really dissapointed if we don't. It's a pride thing....

I would love to get 50 wins, but I won't be upset if we lose considering the circumstances. As long as we put forth the effort that we're capable of and play like we give 1/2 a damn, then i can live with the loss.

Depends : If we play the reserves most of the game, i dont care if we lose, but if the starters are given major minutes, it would nice for them to pull out a W...

I think the coach ought to play the bench for most of the game to conserve energy, decrease the odds of injury and protect our collective psyches!! The last thing we need to do is give a maximum effort against a team we may not even face in the playoffs and get our heads handed to us.

I don't think anybody is giving Phoenix enough credit. There is a reason they won over 60 games and earned the 1 seed.

I said it in the game thread, Pheonix would be nuts to play the big 3 and probably will be pusihng min for the guys they are NOT goning on the paly off roster. Why risk injury at this point in what is to them a meaningless game? Kings due to it being the last game of the season have to palye the starters for an obligitory amount of time but a 50th win that is otherwise meaningless hardly justifies risking injury to your stars, so I don't expect too much pt for Bibby and Im jsut not sure where to catagorize the rest of the availalbe crew. I would expect lots of min for Martin and Daniels, although knowing Adelman he will see this a full dress scrimage for his team and try to use it to help the get this team back into working order. A win here could boost the team for the play offs and Phenix is likely to give us that chance by playing the B string.

I'm just ready to get the party started on Saturday

Same here - a win would be great to get 50, but honestly, with the year we've had, 49 wins ain't exactly a year-long slack-fest for this team....

They rank 12th in FG%..so they don't play terrible defense. Just a very fast paced game and how is losing to a 63 win team a bad thing? and that PG my be the best in the league this year.
