You could call me a bibby hater but the guy is overrated. I not saying the guy stinks or is an awful player but he not a player that is going to lead this team anywhere. Sure he could put up 20 points a night but the team is not going to win. He is not a good defender, he is not a good passer, takes some of the crazies shoots, and has an awful FG avg.

What made bibby so great in the golden years is that he played with a team full of good players and in the right system. On that team he only had one job to do and that was to score, he really didn't have much else to do. Ever since that team broke up bibby has been exposed for what he is, a one demonisl player.

Just like all the other secondary players on the kings, Bibby would be better served if he played beside superstar like Lebron James. Since i highly doubt the kings get a player like Lebron, i fully expect Bibby to get traded in the near future. But if some weird reason bibby does not i do indeed see him putting up 20 plus points instead of aiming to win because this is an contract year. And looking at the 2008 f/a class i think that bibby made a mistake by not opting out this offseason because there are so many players better and even younger in that class i don't expect him getting the contract he is looking for. I don't see a team offering a 30 year old big time money when his best days are clearly behind, maybe the kings could resign him on the cheap at.

And its not "What have you done for me lately" if more like "What have done for me since the Webber trade or Golden Years"

The extra weight was the year before. This year he came into camp in excellent condition and looked to be headed for perhaps his best year ever. Then he got the wrist/thumb injury that pretty much continued to plague him off and on for most of the season. He had two rolled ankles, and who knows what else but still gutted it out and played.

I'm not saying he doesn't need to work hard to bring it all this year but just reminding people that he wasn't in top form after that wrist/thumb injury at the beginning of the season.

One thing - maybe the only thing - Petrie has said recently is that he is determined to get better defensively. Do you really think that the "attempted" trade of Bibby to Cleveland last year was a fluke? Also, what would the point of keeping the 29 year old Bibby actually be? He probably has three years left of maximum performance left in the tank, four years at the most. Do you really see him as an integral part in a Kings' future championship team sometime in the next 3-4 years?

No. I think it was a legitimate attempt and I strongly suspect they'll continue. He is one of few tradable assets the Kings have at this point in time. I have never said Bibby should point blank NOT be traded. My position is simply that there are at least two others I would try to move before Bibby.

I never said that either. I think keeping Bibby around another year could be beneficial for all concerned. If he can resort to peak form, it's a good way to start transitioning some of the young players into their future roles, especially since we're particularly weak at the 1 behind him.

I dont see half of this King's team as an integral part because we aren't going to be competing for a championship anytime soon. By the time we do Bibby will be declining rapidly. The only players i see sticking around for any type of a run at a 'ship is Kmart and Cisco (maybe price and williams). Kmart and Cisco will be teamed up for a pretty long time IMO. Now the question is who do we draft/trade for to stand alongside them. A PG we might/probably trade for and we will probably end up drafting a big man. More trades will be necessary but thats the general idea.

Corliss is an unrestricted free agent as of July 1. He's not "here" any longer unless the Kings offer him a new contract.

While I agree he's a better role model I don't know if he could get a better offer from elsewhere. I'd love to see Corliss end his career as a King but I'm not going to begrudge him a chance to pursue better options.

i wouldn't stop him either. however, those are the types of guys i would like mentoring the young kids. players who have been to the finals and have won a championship.

Bottom line for me is Bibby is a King at the moment and maybe a King all next season. Given that he is a King, I cheer for him to make anyone who dawgs him eat their words.

Why? Why prioritize? Why not cut the cord pronto and move on?

Bibby will take pt away from younger players, limiting their development, not enhancing it. Seems to me like you're having a difficult time cutting the cord? Do you have difficulty dealing with transitions...

Believe it or not, my questions are not rhetorical. At least I didn't think so until I got your response.

2/3 of your last post was about me not being able "to cut the cord" and having difficulty with transition.

Those aren't legitimate questions in my book, they're poking sticks to get a reaction.

I've stated pretty clearly why I think having Bibby around for another year might not be a bad thing. I'll debate just about anything but I don't like sniping.
