this is exactly what i've begun to fear lately...

Eric Musselman is the human. his coaching comes from his brain or should i say brain-less mind.
by no means do we know who Eric Musselman personally but its very easy to hate him as a person aswell just because he has no vision of this squad and what needs to be accomplish.
He has been good this season. He was bad on offense and defense last night, but more importantly he was pouting. His droopy walk to the bench when substituted was high schoolish.
Because of his build, he's going to get physically overmatched time to time. Still, his head should not hang and I swore I saw it doing that last night.

Just because its a game that doesn't mean our life is not attached to it. this game is emotional most of the time or should i say everytime.
its more then just a game to us its our happyness aswell.
This line of thinking is more than just a little scary to me.Just because its a game that doesn't mean our life is not attached to it. this game is emotional most of the time or should i say everytime.

and you may not want to let it be yours, either. most professional sports teams have more down years than up years. success is fleeting. invest your happiness in things that are lasting. here endeth the lesson.
Im not saying that he was hanging his head, but im sure you would be a little upset of how things are going in the organization if you arent getting plays called for you. I mean you dont see bibby or artest come out of games for not shooting the ball well. Kevin is a scorer and always has been. Those games are going to come every once in awhile. But to not get in the second quarter at all and let alone half the third and all of the fourth is a little rediculous for your teams leading scorer. You find me a team in the NBA that will sit their leading scorer.
A few things wrong with Muss is that he is always trying to find the hot hand for the night, plays way to many guards and never leaves any of them in long enough to catch the flow of the game. He doesnt have a rotation down and never will. He needs to sit back in his chair and stop pacing the sidelines and just let them play. I mean whats it really going to hurt. With this being said let your "LEADING SCORER" work his way out of it.
I really don't care at this point that Musselman can't construct an offense, has apparently abandoned all defensive schemes, and generally walks around looking constipated. The Kings aren't going anywhere anyway, so hey, let's lose games and get a good draft pick. Musselman has been a major bust, but at least it doesn't matter in the long run that he's a bust.
But look. At this point there are only two things that matter: draft position and developing Kevin Martin. So... YOU DON'T BENCH KEVIN MARTIN.
Kevin Martin is not aggressive enough in most games. We all want him to shoot more. There are going to be games where he doesn't shoot well. He has an off night once in a while, just like it happens to Mike Bibby every single game. You don't reward aggressiveness and a few missed shots by benching him.
It's not like he's even teaching Kevin a lesson. Kevin Martin goes 1-7 but otherwise was pretty actively defensively. He gets benched. Bibby goes 2-8 in the first half and generally sucks defensively. What's the lesson? The lesson is that it sucks to be Kevin Martin if you miss some shots. Better not be aggressive or you might get benched.
Look, Musselman, I would be perfectly content with you being a bush league coach if it meant that you just didn't get in your own way and kept playing the players that matter while losing again adn again. But all this high school benching stuff needs to stop, particularly when you're messing with the one player that is most important to the future of this franchise.
I agree with everything you said.
There's only one small part I disagree with. Bibby also has been sitting on the bench too many minutes. Even when he's hot, Muss will take him out for too long. It's almost like he says "Bibby is 5 for 5, let's sit him down for 10 minutes."
Too many times the game is turning, we are either getting or losing momentum, it's a critical point. And what happens? Let's bring in Douby, Garcia, and Williamson. Yeah, now's a good time.
AARGH!!
As for benching Martin, he should be the last guy to sit. Of everyone on that team, Martin is the one with the most to learn by being on the floor with confidence. He's got potential that is still untapped. He did look tired in Detroit, I'm not sure why. Maybe because he was the only one playing the night before and won the game for us? So his reward is to sit?
If Muss sat Artest or Bibby everytime they took a forced shot and missed, they would each get about 5 minutes a game.
This rotation, or LACK of rotation is driving me crazy. The starting line-up is a mystery half the time. And the subs - it's almost like Muss draws names out of a hat. Ronny Price's name must be stuck with gum on the bottom of it. There's no reason he suddently gets zero minutes. Douby should get only garbage time at this point. He's way too green to be in a game at a time that matters. And Garcia - still green. Giving him minutes at key times so he can turn the ball over isn't helping anybody.
If at some point we toss in the season (which is probably tossed in for us by now) then play Douby, Garcia, Price, J-Will lots of minutes. Let's the kids run. Either do it or don't. But messing with everyone's head with rotations that don't make sense isn't working.

At this point, the "testing the waters" theory does not cut it. Tell us, what is he doing? How does it make any sense? Players do not know their role. Is it collectively their fault and Muss is a victim? 50 games will be around shortly, and all excuses are out the door then.
I respect that opinion, I don't agree and seem to be in the minority here.
IMO this is just a bad mix of players. Again though, I understand the feelings against muss and I don't work in the NBA so just IMO...
And anyway, the more we lose the better right? Gets us closer to getting a real superstar.
i agree with both posts. this coach stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! however we have too many soft players and too many crybabies. trades need to be made. not even the winningest coach in NBA history could turn this team around.
Tonight's benching of Kevin Martin made a bit more sense, and at least he got his time in the first half. He had nothing tonight. Is he sick? Or just tired?
As he proved last night he brough energy to the team when we needed it, his defense was amazing and in the end he was in the group that fought from 20 down.So is Martin going to disappear into the Mussleman black hole like Price did??!?
If Martin is ill or something (and he looks tired) then I understand. But geez. Is this the way to build up the best scorer on the team? Bench him?!?
Salmons has had one good game this year. Why is he getting time over K-Mart?
