This is turning out to be a epidemic. Are all of the players soft now. No one seems to play through injuries anymore

MILWAUKEE -- Larry Hughes sat out the Cleveland Cavaliers' game Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks with a sprained finger.

Hughes, a free agent guard signed before the start of the season, left Milwaukee on Wednesday morning to undergo an additional exam in Washington on the sprained right long finger. He originally sustained the sprain during the preseason, but had started all 28 games for Cleveland.

The 26-year-old guard is Cleveland's second-leading scorer, averaging 16.2 points and 3.9 assists a game.

Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said that Damon Jones would start in Hughes' spot

Who calls it a "long finger"?

Not really a surprise to me guys are sitting out because of finger injuries. Camby worsened his by fracturing it and has been out for a bit, which sucks for the league and the Nuggets.

edit: Well, what a coincidence, Larry Hughes now out for six-eight weeks with broken finger:

USA Today - Cleveland guard Larry Hughes will miss the next six to eight weeks with a broken finger.

Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry said that one or two screws would be inserted in the joint area of Hughes' right long finger to close the fracture. The surgery will be done in Cleveland later this week.

"We've done tests on the injury all year," Ferry said. "It just started to flare up. We're anxious to get him back at 100%."

He started the first 28 games for the Cavaliers before missing Wednesday night's game at Milwaukee. Damon Jones started in Hughes' spot.

This is certainly a tough blow to the Cavs....

Peja/Kings did the right thing, indeed.

I originally thought Camby was just wussing out but it turns out the injury wasn't just a sprain. You don't have any risk of bone damage from a sprain. Else, I doubt anyone would play through one. Obviously, these guys had worse injuries than initially reported. Plus, for Hughes, I'd say even a simple sprain on his middle finger is enough where I wouldn't call him a wuss for sitting out with it. That's a critical finger. He could still try to play with it taped but that's going above and beyond.

Difference was both Camby and Hughes turned out to have BROKEN fingers.

And even so...who are we talking about here -- Marcus Camby and Larry Hughes? THAT'S the two players who are somehow going to excuse our own wuss? Two guys who average 50 games a year?
